Chief Mau Moalboal Cebu

Was expecting a lot more from this hostel considering the price. Music was played loud all day and night so hard to want to chill around the hostel. Found it difficult to meet anyone socially too as the hostel doesn’t put on anything for people staying. Only 3 showers for multiple 8 bed dorms. Also WiFi didn’t work inside the room.

Rooms and showers are beautiful, but extremely loud music making it impossible to sleep.

The hostel rooms were fine, but I think that the high rating for the hostel is not representative. The shower water was cold, and there weren’t really any social events. One night the staff sang karaoke very loudly until around 1am, but I understand that this could be an exception. The staff was really kind though.

Apart from the location by the beach and friendly staff not a great hostel. Absolutely awful showers almost impossible to wash properly. Barely clean with someone's fingernails by my bed! Most significantly I have no idea what they mean by social hostel, no atmosphere at all. Never anyone in the common area and when there was one evening it was overtaken by what appeared to be a Filipino family surrounded by red horse, mostly passed out on the bean bags with young children running around at 12am

The dorms are really high class. There is no hot water in the showers, and there isn’t 24/7 reception, two things that should not happen in a hostel that expensive.

I would love to rate this hostel better but the showers are awful. The water completely turned off during many of our showers, there was no hot water and the water pressure is non existent. I had to use the bottom faucet in the shower which means I was sitting on the floor while washing my hair in the cold :/ Not worth the price of the rooms Pros: beds comfy, staff is nice, lots of storage for personal items & there’s a dj at night out front but not loud enough where it’s disturbing your ...

Het hostel is erg centaal gelegen in Moalboal. De kamers zijn heel ruim met voldoende opbergruimte, wat fijn was! Ook de bedden zijn goed en privé. De douches zijn helaas wel heel matig, en weinig voor het aantal gasten.

The hostel was nice but was in no way a ‘social hostel’. They had no activities or events and the vibe was usually dead, so the only way to meet people was to pay for a tour. Aside from that, the staff were incredible, super friendly and helpful! Rooms were nice and clean as well, but never locked.

It was a bit disappointing. The staff was nice, the vibe was good and the location is very convenient. However, the room was moldy, the walls tin and the price was expensive for what you get. I stayed in several other rooms in Moalboal and think this one was overpriced. Wouldn’t book it again, unfortunately.

Leuk hostel en ruim

Lovely private room with a nice little balcony. A/C and fan we're great and we could barely hear any noise from the street. The only major downside was our room wasnt cleaned during our 4 day stay, which meant the room was inevitably quite dirty by the end.

Super nice hostel, very clean and staff were lovely. Only thing missing was the atmosphere - they have a cool space upstairs with bean bags, pool table and darts but there were no events on to encourage people up there to socialise. Canyoneering tour is a must do!

Everything was perfect, other than the wifi didn’t work in my dorm. Otherwise, one of the best hostels I’ve ever stayed in!

Had such a good stay here - it’s clean comfortable and great location to the sardine beach. Walkable to all restaurants massage shops etc. Not social in my experience but the canyoneering with them was great. Have recommended this place to other travellers and would stay here again!

Probably the best Hostel I stayed at in the Phillippines! Super nice rooms with a lot is space and the bathrooms are nice and clean. Location is great since all the restaurants are around this area and you only walk 3 minutes to the beach where the sardine runs are.

Everything was solid about this place except the atmosphere and vibe felt a bit off. It was super clean, staff were helpful and friendly. Wasn't very social with no organized events for people staying but had a chill social area.

Absolutely fantastic hostel in the perfect location on the Main Street and right next to the beach! The rooms are lovely, spacious, clean and comfortable. Nice bathrooms. The staff are all so friendly and helpful. Would highly recommend!

I love this hostel!!!! So clean and comfy beds. Great location and great staff. Only thing I’d say could be improved is the social side, I luckily met some nice girls in my room but otherwise I think it would’ve been hard to meet people…

Goede locatie, fijne kamers en aardig personeel

Probably one of the best hostels I've stayed in. The beds are fab, really comfortable and solid, with huge built-in stairs so you don't feel any movement. The rooms are spacious and well-designed which made it easy to chat with people. Everyone in my dorm was lovely and I've been in touch with almost the entire room since. The food at the hostel is great, and the location couldn't be better - right by the beach. The staff are so welcoming - there was a new employee on reception who was SO kind!

Best hostel in moalboal - central to sardine run and lots of restruants/shops. Really good common area where met good friends, also canyoneering offered through the hostel. Food at hostel was really good and reception staff were super welcoming and remembered names! Also lovely big dorm and nice bathroom facilities.

A great hostel with the most helpful and friendly staff, downside is that there is no outside area or pool to sunbathe and the karioki night was incredibly loud and went on until midnight with pretty bad singing
