Even though I felt sad when I left, I left with a big, big smile on my face!

A great hostel, the host Stephan is very kind and generous, gives fab suggestions for hikes and has lots of equipment to borrow if you don’t have. Really lovely atmosphere with friendly people to hike or bike together.

Wonderful hostel! Everything was clean, cosy, and the kitchen was really well-equipped. Most importantly, Stefan, the owner, was super friendly and helpful when it came to advising on hiking routes according to the season and the weather on a given day. If you want to come to Durmitor to hike, either as a solo traveller or in a group, this is definitely the hostel for you. You can team up with other guests so that you don't hike alone if this is daunting.

Not just a hostel, but a home away from home. Stefan and Alex are the best hosts making sure you have everything you need. the place is clean, comfortable and has nice common rooms. i liked the yard and the well equipped kitchen a lot. We were the first guests of the season, therefore there was a bar of chocolate on our beds as a present. Stefan even cookedcooked us a delicious dinner one night. This is a place where you really get to know other travellers. Perfect for solo travelers.

Insane place to stay, Stephan is the best / wicked sense of humour and will set you off on the best hikes for each day. Great warm vibe at this hostel, my favourite stay on these travels

Pros: - extraordinary hiking equipment rental (for free) - helpful staff for planning tours Cons: - not the cleanest hostel - because of two separated buildings the atmosphere was a bit weird

The location is excellent and makes it easy to get around. It’s also a great place to meet other travelers, and the staff are very friendly and helpful. The only downside is that the rooms and kitchen are a bit cramped, and the beds don’t have much separation or privacy.

Great hub for all the hiking you wanna do

If you spend time in Žabljak and you don’t stay here, you better have a good excuse. Stay minimum 3 nights, but the more the better. The hostel is very social and you’ll meet plenty of people to hike with. Last but not least, Stefan is the best hostel host I’ve met. Make sure you try get to know him over some Rakija.

Hostel Hikers Den is the perfect base for exploring Durmitor! Stefan is an absolute legend and he gives the best advice on hikes, weather, and routes (Alex wasn't there when I visited but I'm sure he does too). The overall vibe in the hostel is very warm and social, making it easy to meet fellow travelers, especially with the daily hikers meetings you can attend. Also, everything is very clean. Highly recommended hostel!

One of the best hostels I've stayed at. It's a perfect place for hikers who want a good base to explore Durmitor, and a cosy social place to stay in. The owners helped out a lot in choosing the right hikes and activities. Recommended!

Great hostel for the walks. Staff extremely knowledgeable and will help with any and all things walking related. Great briefings and transport options. Well established and polished hostel for adventurers.

A really great hostel for those that love to be surrounded by mountains and immersed in nature. So much to do from where the hostel is located and the hosts will give you advice about how to spend your day. A really friendly and social vibe at the hostel as well. Kitchen is a bit small for the number of people, and I found the hosts had short tempers and would have a go at you if you were at the wrong place at the wrong time, otherwise they were generally very helpful.
