Don’t go here. No atmosphere. Super basic. Doesn’t feel safe.

The hostel was very far located from everything except for the supermarket, that was nice. The next beach was at least 30min walk away and also no public transport available such as Dala stations in the near of it so it was a bit hard to get in town. The pool was green but then they started cleaning it and we couldn’t use the pool then. When we had no water there was nobody telling us we had to us for a bucket of water then. We had a nice stay, the staff was really helpfull arranging transfer from the airport, since we arrived mid might, they also helped with a local simcard. There was no water for an entire day, and the bathrooms were dirty. Our room was ok, the beds was really unstable though - it was hard not too wake up when someone turned over. All in all, a fair stay for the price.

I was excited to find a hostel with a perfect score in Dar. The hostel is good, but far from perfect. The rooms are really tiny for the amount of beds. The occupancy was less than half and it felt crowded with the luggage. The property needs some maintenance, particularly the common areas, bathrooms, kitchen and garden. AC in the room was great.

overall good. if you are looking for quick stay for a day of two you can book. Bunk beds were not pretty good

Overall it was great! Just some feedback the breakfast could be better and also there's no pool.

Very quiet, attracted by the pool but there was no vibe and also toilets smelly! My room was super nice and cold but there was others not great and bit of an odd location. Staff were friendly but just not my vibe! :)

Everything was perfect, staff was really nice, overall good vibe, nice bunch of solo-travellers and a pool. Would come again when I’m in Dar :)

Liegt halt ziemlich außerhalb, dafür ruhig und grün. Ansonsten alles gut, Personal freundlich, Atmosphäre ok, aber die hängt ja auch daran wer sonst noch da ist. Müsste wegen Gruppenbelegung 2 mal umziehe.

Great stay - felt completely save, so left all my valuable stuff in the room/bed. The pool is definitely a plus even though there’s no shadow at the pool during the day. Every sleeping booth has its own fan, light bulb, outlet and curtain so even though it’s was a 10 bed dorm I slept so well there. Minor improvement: some more space to store backpacks etc in the dorm. Overall the area itself is quite so definitely recommended if you want to escape the noise of the city centre!

Awesome atmosphere. Nice and quiet. The staff was very friendly and attentive. I loved the location, super close to the beach, public transportation, and bars.. there is also a hospital near by. I spent a lot of time in my room but have no complaints! The pool was really nice, great place to unwind and super clean. I’d visit again!

I stayed here for 1 night and I'm extending my stay for 1 week because I love it here. This place is so clean, so safe and the ladies that work here are so nice and it honestly feels like home away from home. I love that they have a supermarket that is a 2 minute walk from the hostel because I like making my own meal in their shared kitchen. Honestly this feels like an authentic hostel because I wasn't being forced to buy something, I've been traveling for months and this was the break I need

Just stayed at Gallivanters Hostel in Dar Es Salaam, and it was such a vibe! As a solo female traveler, I felt super secure here and I met other ladies in my dorm. The 24/7 reception staff were absolute legends, always there to answer my questions about where to eat and party in the area. The wifi so strong, I had no issues staying connected and posting my adventures. Plus, the walkability of the neighborhood was a major win. It legit felt like a mini Europe with all the expats around the area.

Really good hostel. Close to the supermarket, the main roads, the hospital, the beach. Very clean and nice rooms. The only annoying thing was that there was the power off one evening and every house next to us had electricity. But still very amazing and great to meet new people. And the pool was great too!
