Smelt awful

None of the description is valid - at least not from my perspective. The owner apparently wants to sell the property therefore it has not been really looked after. Most of the light bulbs in the house don’t work. There was no breakfast whatsoever, no hot tub, there was one washing machine that was only able for cold washing. The beds were really unstable, not many options to charge your devices. The doorknob almost fell off of the door. The whole property was not in good shape.

Good location, nice garden. The hostel needs a big update, the mattresses are not comfy and the bunk beds are broken, extremely wobbly and rattle when going up. No lockers in rooms. Kitchen needs new cutlery and tea towels. Needs a big deep clean too.

Needs to upgrade bathroom - hand dryer or paper towels in toilet/bathroom - there was nothing to dry hands on. Heater and or fan in shower room. Breakfast provided very basic. One private room with bathroom shared with one other - there was no special bathroom. The heaters were on in the bedroom and the log burner in the living room but the door didn't close properly and the glass in the door was cracked. A private room not much cheaper than a pristine motel room not great value for money.

Perfectly fine for one night if you’ve got the ferry, however, the beds were rickety and extremely uncomfortable. On top of this, we only had one plug socket between four of us as the other one in our room was broken which wasn’t ideal. Good location from the ferry and from the intercity bus stop

I was only here one night after getting the ferry but the house looked really nice. The problem was that it was absolutely freezing in the room which meant it was difficult to sleep.

it’s fairly grim at the Villa. few bathrooms, beds are old and uncomfortable, long term guests make the room their own and you kind of just have to work around them. kitchen isn’t awful. my pal told me she saw a cockroach after we left - she knew not to tell me whilst we were there! but it’s very believable the bed and sheets are old and just a bit worn. wifi is also really poor anywhere but the lounge. would probably be better in summer!

We booked this place twice as the first time we had a good room and the staff helped us a lot, the 2nd time they gave us a tiny room while we had booked for the same price and the beddings were not fresh there were even hair on the sheets … the house is super cute

I mean, it is what it is. bang average hostel at best but a needs must to get to the ferry

Good and kind place to stay. It could be a little bit warmer in kitchen and in the lounge.

I had a great stay here. The staff were really friendly and helpful, and all the spaces were clean and comfortable. It has everything you need in a hostel. Location is also great, a short walk to shops and cafes.

I found the Villa accommodation very good value. My only comment is that maybe they could consider secure under cover parking for motor-cycles ?

Heel gezellig hostel, voelt echt gewoon als een kleine cottage. De bedden en de keuken waren niet geweldig maar voor deze prijs zou ik er zeker nog eens verblijven. Het heeft een hele gezellige tuin en de gedeelde ruimte was ook fijn. Van het free breakfast moet je je niks voorstellen, dit was alleen brood met jam

Das einzige Minus, ist dass das Wlan leider nicht ganz bis ins Zimmer gereicht hat. Sonst ist die Unterkunft ganz nett. Die Küche und die Aufenthaltsräume haben mir gut gefallen. Außerdem gobt es kostenloses Frühstück und einen Whirlpool

Great social and caring hostel. Staff very friendly and it has a very welcoming feeling. Love the treehouse and hot tub!

Super schöne Atmosphäre wunderschöner Garten mit Whirlpool

Die Villa (Kunterbunt) ist ein wunderbarer Ort, um in Picton erstrmal anzukommen. Es gibt sehr viele Draußensitzmöglichkeiten. Bei Regen könnte es drinnen evtl. etwas eng werden. Wir haben uns super wohl gefühlt. Toll, wenn ein Backpacker so lange am Markt ist.... es kann gut sein, dass ich schon 1999 hier war. Nebenan gibt es eine super Bäckerei. Echt wundervoll. DAnke.

It has a spa pool! Although it was cold when i went to use it, also its so pretty, also a tree house, and a well loved pool table.

Lovely place to stay, feels like a home! Mostly people staying a night or two but a good spot to explore Picton from.

It was a wonderful stay, but the showers were a little old and could only shower with steaming hot water. But very nice staff and overall pretty hostel. Would recommend

Im Hostel "The Villa" fühlt man sich zuhause. Es ist in einer Art Landhaus untergebracht und verfügt über einen ungemütlich Aufenthaltsraum mit Kamin. Das Esszimmer ist ebenfalls gemütlich, die Küche groß und gut ausgestattet und der Garten lädt zum Verweilen ein. Die Badezimmer sind sehr sauber. Die Mitarbeiter sind freundlich ubd zugewandt.

Grundsätzlich guter Aufenthalt in the Villa. Ich hatte die schlimmsten Befürchtungen wegen den vorherigen Rezensionen. Ich habe es nicht als stinkend empfunden. Natürlich ist das gesamte Gebäude sehr alt und heruntergekommen, also kaputte Türen, veraltete Bettwäsche usw. aber trotzdem alles in Ordnung und dient seinem Zweck.
