Main Square

I do not recommend anyone stay at world wide hostels or main square hostel. The receptionist nags when asked any minor question. I have stayed in over 40 hostels around the world and this is one of my worst because of how they treat guests. What’s even worse is that on Wednesdays they have a beer pong tournament. I enter with my friend Tom and we win second place. However, the staff who was working at the hostel REFUSED to give me my prize and started to make new rules.

The location was stellar, right in the middle of everything. Hated the staff, and had communication issues with them. They were quite rude and unpleasant. Everyone watched how they treated me and once I got to my room everyone asked me if I was okay because how rude the staff was. I would never book with them again, and I recommend others don’t as well.

This hostel had bed bugs. 4 of the 6 beds in my dorm had dozens and dozens of bed bugs. The gentlemen at reception was very accommodating and found an alternative apartment for me and another person and offered for us to wash our clothes in the staff laundry. Management assured us that we would be refunded our money however after more than 6 weeks the money has not been refunded. Other people affected only received a refund after multiple phone calls and emails.

When I arrived, I have been told that my reservation did not go register because apparently there was an error in their system, although I have already paid my reservation fee through the website. They said they were fully booked, so I could not get a room. It was late at night and I was offered to sleep on a couch for 10 EUR. I was not offered a refund of my reservation fee. WORST HOSTEL EVER. Although the location was great, once we stepped inside, we quickly realized how unsafe we would feel the remainder of our trip. The atmosphere provided a generally creepy, lurking energy, and welcomed was the last thing we felt. The cleanliness was another issue. There were bedbugs! While the common area was decent, security and location both excellent, my two night stay was overshadowed by bedbugs found at 5am the second morning. Staff seemed to be meh about it and said they would spray for them. Be warned! Also; the hostel isn’t very social, however for wanting a quiet sleep it works well! Showers were a little smelly, and not in great order, could have used a slightly larger area to change but seemed typical overall.

Facilities are mismanaged at this hostel - the AC doesn’t work properly and the remote is at the reception and anyone in the room can ask to turn off and they will. Leaving other people uncomfortable. Suddenly water supply is cut off in bathrooms in the middle of the day, washing machine doesn’t work. Staff is not helpful and doesn’t provide clear guidance on the facilities. The only good part is central location of the hostel but there are many others around the same spot.

I am very disappointed about my stay at this hostel. When we went to check in earlier, we were told to put our bags in a locker.. but nobody told us we would have to pay for it (5€/bag) so we had this beautiful surprise when we checked it later. We have to pay for a towel!? Like I would understand if it was a deposit but actually having to pay!? This hostel was already not that cheap this is not very friendly. The ambiance there was kinda oppressive and cold. Not my fav hostel.

Die 7.4 kommen nur zustande, da das Personal total freundlich und nett war. Ansonsten muss ich ehrlich sagen, dass ich etwas enttäuscht war. Die Dusche konnte man nicht verschließen und zudem auch durchgucken, da die Wand nur foliert war und sich ebendiese löste… Die Idee mit den Schlafkabinen ist meiner Meinung nach sehr gut umgesetzt, jedoch hat es in meinem Bett nach Erbrochenem gerochen.

Receptionist was rude and moody, room was very warm and loud. In a nice area but didn’t feel the safest at night so spent them alone in my hostel as there no events advertised by the hostel, the common areas were pretty much a ghost town and found it hard to meet people. Only 2 showers for all the girls in the building, the bathroom door opened into the main hallway so there was no privacy. Showers dripped loads of water randomly soaking you while you change, no privacy elsewhere to change tho...

A great location close to the main square in Zagreb. Efficient check-in and a comfortable bed. Very clean, helpful staff, zero issues. The hostel is on the 3rd floor and the lift is very slow!!!

Paula welcomed me and she was super friendly and kind! The location is very central (thus it can get noisy at night but nothing like some earplugs can't help you with), it is very spacious in all of its facilities (rooms, bathrooms, kitchen, etc.). I stayed very short but this is a more quite Hostel and def not a party one which is exactly what I needed after some busy and hectic travel days. However, fear not! Their sister hostel organises activites that applies for both :)

This hostel has the potential to be great. Its location is central and the styling really works for the most part, but the capsules and the curtains mean it’s hard to connect with other travellers. The kitchen areas were always quiet despite the facilities being good. The bathrooms are not very practical for showering but always clean.

Probably the best hostel I have ever stayed in. Loved the dorm setup with the sleeping pods, felt very private and secure. The staff were all very helpful and friendly including the guy cleaning the kitchen. Can absolutely recommend it plus a pleasant walk from the train station.

物美价廉，物理位置超级好，各大景点就在附近，步行几分钟到十几分钟就能到达，床位很宽大，早上还有早餐，公共设施都很干净宽敞，有机会的话会再次入住。

very good location and cozy common area

Lage und Mitarbeiter sind super, es ist rund um die Uhr eine Ansprechperson da. Außerdem gibt es eine große Küche mit Aufenthaltsraum. Die Bäder sind sauber, jedoch riecht es etwas. Und es fehlen Ablageflächen an den Waschbecken für die Kulturbeutel. Ebenso in den Spinden. Für große Koffer Gut geeignet, aber nicht um Kleidung darin abzulegen.

Really nice and easy hostel. The staff was great. The breakfast was simple but useful. Over all, I'm really happy with my stay and would go there again, if I ever get back.

We had such an amazing time here. The staff were super friendly and the facilities were great. Excellent value for money and location, right in the heart of Zagreb. Would definitely come again.

Great hostel. Great free breakfast. Great kitchen. Was not very social during my stay. I liked the privacy with the unique room style. Only “complaint” was I thought the beds were not very comfortable. The showers also did not get very hot. But if that’s what you have to complain about, then it’s a great hostel. I’d recommend to anyone.
