Hotel socrates is a hotel, not a hostel, but for the price, and the location, I think this is a good place to stay. The bathrooms are older and a bit rundown, as are the rooms, we did have some ants, but it did the job, we even got a balcony! It is conveniently located next to the train station, which was excellent for us as we arrived late at night. It is about a 30 minute walk to the acropolis and other attractions which was okay for us, but there is a metro or busses.
My staying wasn't the best, because of the noise from other rooms (the doors don't completely protect the light and the noise, and I find my room quite old, specially the toilet... It should be a cheaper staying
This is a hotel and not a hostel. It’s far from everything. The train station is just down the road, there is privacy, and the shutters make sure you get a good nights sleep. However, it’s in a sketchy neighborhood for female travelers. There are other options that will be better. Get a hostel closer to the Acropolis like Athens Backpackers.
Great location for catching the train to the port in the morning but that’s about it.
Hotel, not a hostel. It’s fine for a quick layover. Very near train station so super convenient. The beds are not that comfortable but they’re enough. Staff were kind and helpful. Nice view from the upper rooms. Plenty of great food 10 mins walk further down the road.
Bien, decente.
Honestly I was a bit worried after reading the reviews but it surpassed all expectations. It was clean, the staff were nice, and it was conveniently located next to the bus station. It suited my needs perfectly and I would stay again.
