Rajalakshmi Guesthouse

I had a great stay in this guesthouse, very quiet and colorful. I was in the upstairs room, the bathroom was very clean. It’s perfect location to walk around and basicaly two steps from the beach. The owner has been very nice to me, always helpful and smiling. I will definately come back here on my next travel.

The room downstairs were awful. Dark and the smell was musty. The rooms upstairs seemed really nice, I did ask to change rooms, but upstairs were no available. I slept in worse rooms bit not for so much money. Stuff was not very helpful or communicative. There are better places near by. Don’t know how the hostel could get so a high rating. Good was the location of the hostel! Near beach, restaurants and shore temple.

Auberge sympa, placé à deux pas de la plage, pas très loin des temples. Le gérant était très gentil. La chambre sentait malheureusement la cigarette lors de notre venue. Nous y étions quasiment seul donc impossible de juger l’ambiance. Ceci dit, il n’y a pas de salle commune pour permettre des rencontres mais des hamacs à l’extérieur sont tout de même installés.

Great place really close to the beach. We got an upstairs room which look recently refurbished so clean and comfortable with good AC. Helpful staff with bus and other questions. Bit quiet but think that was the whole town in general.

We received a warm welcome and were made to feel at home by the owner. The AC rooms are much nicer than the downstairs ones with fresh paint and updated bathrooms. A comfortable, pleasant and well located guesthouse.

Made us pay extra for tax even though it says tax included. Didn’t have a lock on the door, no AC, no towels and no bed cover.

Great hostel and super nice staff!

I was forced to pay extra money above the said amount shown onApp claiming that the advance paid was taken by the app and i need to pay entire amount.Although at the end i only paid 65 Rs extra but the said practice is wrong

Location is perfect, 5 minutes from the sea and situated on a quiet street. The property was very clean and the air-conditioning worked well. Lots of delicious restaurants nearby, many with views of the shore temple. Most of the main sites are within walking distance, and for any that aren't it is very easy to get an uber. We met a lovely man who owned a very small stone carving shop on the same street as the hostel. He even taught us how to do a bit of carving ourselves!

Super guesthouse qui est très bien situé! Nous avons adoré la chambre familiale et avons été bien contentes du service de lavage offert! Fortement recommandé!

Location is good, close to everything. Free water and use of hammocks. The place is being decorated so a bit disorganised. This is as basic as it gets, no towels and as clean as they can get it. We were "upgraded" to the AC with hot water for some reason. A lot of confusion, people seemingly being moved out of rooms to make way for others. The rooms are "cells" with concrete plinths and a mattress. We have stayed in places like this many, many times (necessity) but usually for pennies...

An incredible place, perfectly located, 2 minutes from the beatch. The owner is very nice, and the place is so calm. The most serene place we've been so far ! Thank you so much, Sylvain and Zoë

I absolutely adored my time at Rajalakshmi! Thanks to Jothi, who did everything in his power to accomodate for me. Amazing location, right next to the beach and within walking distance of all the UNESCO sites in the area. The rooms themselves are clean and cosy, with private bathrooms. Free drinking water and delicious food to eat at their restaurant. Could not recommend more!

Jothi who runs it is great. He tries his hardest to make it a good stay. Own room with AC and ensuite with hot shower. The heater also broke whilst we were there but he provided hot water in bucket and got it fixed right away. There arent many areas to hang out a table and few odd chairs. Restaurant not open. There were no hammocks but put 1 up when we said about this. Due to some very noisy guests at other property opposite and last night our place did not sleep well as courtyard carries sound.

I stayed two nights in Rajalakshmi Guesthouse. I had my own (non AC) room at the end of the courtyard. The room was okay and actually nicely quiet at night. I slept well. Staff was friendly and helpful. I got my laundry done in just one afternoon. The guesthouse is very well located. Everything is within walking distance and there are good cafes or restaurants in the neighborhood (or even same street). The internet connection was very weak in the room, but outside it was okay.

stayed for 3 nights. first night was in a non ac room which was very hot and not too clean, but after moving to the ac room it was much better. staff were friendly and helpful, doors have locks, wifi worked well, and it is in a great location close to the beach, shops, and tourist attractions. would recommend
