La Buena Vista

Feels like the Oaxacan version of The Haunted Mansion. beautiful property that is a vision of an abandoned dream. No potable water or hot water, swimming pool is treated with household bleach, burned my skin. no toiletseats, bed sheets ancient and itchy, mattress smells like dead skunk and made a dust cloud when you sit down. staff leaves property at night with no way to contact. gate is left open to a dark alleyway, no security. oh and then there's a neglected parrot screaming "hola" all night.

My stay at La Buena Vista was by far the worst travel experience I’ve ever had. From the moment we arrived, the receptionist made us feel completely unwelcome. She was unfriendly, unhelpful, and downright rude—at one point even chasing us out of the common area after we checked out. The facilities were filthy. Everything was dusty and moldy. It's a beautiful hotel with incredible views and surrounded by nature. It was a pleasant surprise. Sadly, there is no kitchen available for guests use and some of the plants close to my room were dying. I stayed one night but it's worth staying a little longer.

Superbe hostel avec une vue sur la mer et la selva ! La dame qui gère le personnel est adorable et prend grand soin des installations. Que dire de plus ? Allez-y !

Rustic hotel with gorgeous views, lots of character & natural surroundings. Very tranquil place! Would have been nice if filtered drinking water was provided & to have access to a kitchen as there are no cafés nearby. Otherwise really enjoyed our stay there, thank you!

Interesting place and good value. It has very good potential as the place is big with a swimming pool, a nice view and a restaurant area. However, it is clearly neglected, missing some love and attention. The staff is quite unfriendly and does not like to interact with the guests. Also, the wifi does not work in the rooms.

Very reasonably priced stay. Nice remote location. Relaxing surrounding and about a 7 minute walk to the beach. Perfect for a budget travellers wanting extra space and privacy.

This place is really great 😊 In the middle of the trees and nature Full of birds and animals ! A very nice swimming pool And of course our friend Teko the parrot 🦜 The only thing we miss is a fridge ☺️ Thank you Puerto Angel!

A beautyful old hotel up on the hill.

I ended up loving this place but it’s not for everyone. If you love the Japanese concept of wabi sabi (look it up) and you don’t need air conditioning this place is for you. The short road that gets there from the highway seems sketchy but it’s not! And there is a stunning seaside balcony cafe bar far from the highway on the other side of the bridge - you must go there if you check out Buena Vista! If the pool is working it’s also a real treat with stunner view
