Sharky Hostel Oslob

Very basic hostel, such good location for whale sharks and the workers went above and beyond to help us with everything. Didn’t matter that it’s a bit old and rundown it’s perfect early morning wake up for sharks

good spot for see the whale shark, no warm water in the bathroom, no internal restaurant.

Really close to the whale sharks which was our main reason for staying. Staff were really helpful and Jomar was hilarious

Lovely place and the owner is the Queen os Oslob so you can make all the activities with her

This was the worst stay of my whole 2-month trip. In the room you get a bed, a mosquito net, a fan... that's it. No chair, no table, no hangers, literally nothing. You don't even get locks for your door. The door is literally unlocked. Anyone can just come and enter your room. They provide locks for an additional charge. REALLY??? We had to wake up at 3am, wait for 1 hour to just register. Then we had to wake up at 5:30 to see whale sharks. Why couldn't they register us without waking up???

Superbe emplacement pour les requins baleines, mais une nuit suffit car c’est vraiment pas cher et donc il n’y a pas beaucoup de qualité. Très bruyant malheureusement.

the staff were so unbelievably kind and friendly. rooms were cute and good social area. pretty much everyone’s there for sharks so easy to meet people. first boat out there so not many people however there was a very long queue when we were leaving which felt a little uncomfortable. the locals are so friendly too, went and had drinks with them and had fun. really recommend staying here

Hostel is right where tourists go see the sharks. Place is run down & old. Bathroom has Gas Station Bathroom vibes. just to do Diving st Sumilon and chill there. Best Island ever but the Hostel is just not it. Staff was good but the guy responsible is a 💅🏼 that talks very rude. Cats and dogs cute but not taken care of food wise. Lady got into room at 4am every 30 min to ask whos seeing the sharks. That was annoying. Dont do the shark thing its unethical! I didnt. Sumilon Island is 10/10 th...

Amazing hostel, staff were so friendly and it was a great atmosphere, very social. It’s right on the beach next to the whale shark watching and would definitely recommend booking through the hostel. They get you in really early so you’re on of the first boats out. There isn’t much else to do around Oslob so you only need a night or two. Only disappointment was that there was no hot water so if you don’t mind a cold shower it’s perfect

Christian was great, perfect for shark tours as right next to the spot and they sort everything for you, even wake you up for it + you get to be first out on the boats

Absolutely beautiful host family who were so helpful and attentive. We were in the private kubos which were super cool! Such great organisation and location to the whale watching area.

Awesome staff!

This place is only good for whale shark watching. The location can't be better. But the hostel need a complete renovation. The staff are amazing too.

ABSOLUTELY stay here if you go whaleshark watching! The family running the place are sososo sweet, helpful and welcoming. We had the pleasure of meeting the two brothers, and they go above and beyond to ensure your stay and experience with whaleshark watching is the best it can be. They make sure you are the first on the boat and in the water. Recommend recommend! And the huts are very cute and homey to stay in :))

The family that runs this is the sweetest ever and will do anything for their guests 🥹🫶 they made the stay so easy, comfortable and enjoyable - always going out of their way to help us with transport, tours and in my case, first aid when I was injured. The facilities are super basic, but are fine for a small stay. The property itself is super beautiful and green, with a nice communal area with a kitchen and pool. Will definitely be coming back!

Absolutely fabulous staff. Arranged my swimming with the whale sharks and even took me and even helped me get on the right bus and waited with me until I left. The fetched heart was extremely basic with windows that didn’t lock. There was no AC but this was expected. The room was extremely small and the bed was extremely hard. Worst of all is that a family of Rooster‘s lived right next door and I mean only a few metres away and they would crow from 4 am.

I really liked my stay at Sharky hostel. You are warmly welcomed by the family that own it and they help with absolutely everything. From the whale watching and other activities, recommendations and transport. The area is quiet but it has everything you need for an easy stay. Thank you Christian and the rest of the family!

best place to watch the whale sharks. i loved staying in the private hut surrounded by nature. i slept incredibly well. i extended my stay 2 more nights as i enjoyed just chilling in the peacefulness of this hostel. the staff can help u book tours. hostel provides free water and coffee. toilet could be cleaner. toilet seat was falling off

Dieses Hostel kann ich auf jedjeden Fall weiterempfehlen! Die Besitzer sind richtig nett und bei allen möglichen Anliegen behilflich. Die beste Entscheidung war, das Whale Shark Watching über sie zu buchen, da wir durch ihre Hilfe die ersten waren, die mit dem Boot hinausfuhren und nicht lange warten mussten, im Vergleich zu den anderen. Es herrscht eine familiäre Atmosphäre und wir haben uns dort sehr wohl gefühlt. Der einige Mangel war das Bad, das nicht so modern war und Ameisen im Zimme...
