The place is nice and clean but the women owners were very unfriendly and Wifi doesn’t work well in the 2nd building..
STAY AWAY. Terrible experience. 1. BED BUGS found on my bed/bags. 2. Staff is hostile; an older woman shouted at me for 40 mins during check-in, then didn't even give me a bed. 3. No entry/bags drop-off before 10 AM. No elevator (5 floors). 4. No luggage storage despite being promised. 5. Strict/weird rules: Fines for food/drinks above 1st floor, yelled at for wearing shoes. 6.No vibe. They closed the next day due to no guests. Save yourself the headache, pay more for a normal hostel.
Very security conscious, convenient to metro. Helpful front desk staff but some loud unpleasant interactions between others who may have been staff. It would have just been my stay but there was no social atmosphere. Beds are not very private like other hostels I've stayed in so worth bringing a sleeping mask.
I'm baffled as to how this hostel earned an 8.1 rating. The mattress is very thin, like sleeping on a plank. There's no privacy curtain, and if you're unlucky, you'll have the top bunk and be right in the spotlight. There's no bedside lamp, and hairs are on the mattress. The bathroom is small, with little space to store your belongings. You have to slide around the sink to reach it together. I absolutely had to wear my slippers; I found them unhygienic; they're made of fabric and aren't cleaned.
Close to a subway station, nice kitchen. Beds don’t have curtains and mattress is in bad shape.
Staff was kinda rude. Especially the older lady.
More like a guesthouse with local people rather than an international backpacker spot. My main issue was the unfriendly older lady working there who came up with new rules for me, not clarified when checking in (with a nicer English speaking staff) or marked. I was told off for using my own inside shoes (provided ones were too big). Then she said I could only use them upstairs for ‘equality’?? + made me move twice in the common area, although nobody was there and spot unmarked as ‘working ...
Super nice hostel, great staff and very clean bathrooms! The host does not speak english but google translate works! The only downside was there were no curtain between the beds
Was a pretty good hostel, staff friendly, good atmosphere, dorm and bathroom very clean. Could do with more comfy beds as you were basically sleeping on a hard board, but the rest of the hostel was great
We’ve stayed here twice! First in a shared dorm, which was fine, the only complaints were about my room mates not the facility itself. We were able to leave out bags at the common area for the day when we checked out which was helpful. The second time, it seemed as though they over-booked, and we got upgraded to a 2 person dorm! We weren’t allowed to leave our bags again, though. Lovely clean hostel and the staff is awesome
Place feels like home. Staff is very friendly and talkative, met a bunch of nice travelers here. It's clean, spacious and not a bad place to work, too. Good place to gear down and relax for a bit. Great value and, as always in East Asia, very safe. The night market around the corner is not bad but it's worth walking to Lingya which is more traditional. There is otherwise not much around. Make sure to visit other places around the island, too, such as Tainan and the east coast. I'd come back.
Good Hostel
I had a great time in this hostel, stuff is very friendly and the facilities are very good😊 would absolutely recommend !!
it's fine. bad location
Great Hostel to explore Kaohsiung for a night with excellent location! We had a great stay and can definitely recommend
The hostel is really close to the subway line, and near a lot of great breakfast places. There wasn't a ton of conversation around the hostel, but the first floor was a great place to work on a laptop or hang out and read a book/chat with people. There's free tea/coffee and filtered water. There are showers on every floor, and lockers available for free. I felt very safe and had no issues.
friendly staff except one old lady that had control issues, she always came in and turned off the ac and closed the window. The beds were really uncomfortable and hard. and we didn't have any locked safe in the room. but I still would recommend this place to others, the location and the overall stay was pretty good.
We booked a dorm room for three people but got moved into a private room with three pads on the floor. It was nice to have our own space for no extra charge, but the room was just that, empty except for three pads and three pillows on the floor. Fine for one night, dare I say comfortable...even. Hosts were friendly and helpful, common space large with many conveniences. Managed to chat with a few people as well so if you want companionship, you may well find it.
This is a great hostel for budget travellers. There are not many international people, mostly locals at least when I was there. Also there was no curtain on the beds, which could have been nice to have, although it was fine after all.
