Location is great and staff are incredible! I think as a solo traveller it may be a bit hard to meet other guests, as it wasn’t super social. But they have a weekly trivia night which is great fun! The free breakfast is also amazing!

We had the best time at this hostel. We had a double bedroom with shared bathroom facilities - the room was large and spacious with a really comfortable bed and a balcony too! The bathrooms were clean and well maintained, never got too busy. The staff at this hostel are brilliant - it is such a fun atmosphere, especially the pub quiz!! Food and drinks are great value and the hostel is also a close walk to other nice restaurants. 100/10 from me!

Only 2 things that would make it better privacy blinds for the beds and power outlets for the beds

Interesting place, on the one hand very well setup with a nice bar, lovely food and very safe. On the other hand the bad was very bad, I'm average height and it was too short and had a metal end for no reason. It was also way too warm for the supplied duvet (I just used the cover) and there was a lot of noise.

Very well run hostel. Room a little small, but all in all very good.

We really enjoy our stay at Bushpig backpacker hostels. The staff was really nice and helpful. The resto-bar of the hostel has great food and good prices. There's activities and great ambiance. We feel safe and the staff gave us recommandation to improve our stay in Kampala. I really recommend this place.

Super hostel!

great location, bar, safety.wifi not well covering hostel.

Great location in a safe area with both mall and good restaurants within walking distance. The room got a nice and big balcony. It is very loud from the hallway and form the other rooms, so bring earplugs even if you stay in a private. The breakfast is included, but it takes time. Estimate an hour for scrambled eggs. Few people hanging around. I will come back.

Bushpig is a great spot, a well-known hub in Kampala. The hostel is clean and well-maintained, staff is friendly and personable. The restaurant is a highlight, really good food at decent prices and people come from outside to eat here. Not as much of a social vibe among guests but I think that's because of the low season. Wifi is pretty weak throughout the hostel unfortunately. Tour desk was helpful in sorting out rafting though the walking tour guy they used wasn't great. Overall great stay

dorm room is very basic but the place itself is such a well maintained hostel with great bar and restaurant. the girls and the reception, the restaurant staff and the manager are so nice, keep up the great work guys!

Great hostel with a restaurant

Great hostel. Monica and Gloria were brilliant! Only thing would be to improve the internet connection. There were a few blackouts whilst I was there.

Nice place to stay. Great location in the city. Not much of a vibe as a hostel, but the bar/restaurant downstairs is a nice spot that many people from the city come to hang out at. Breakfast was good. Room was decent. Downside: it faces a restaurant/nightclub that blasts music loudly many weeknights til 3am, so its advisable to have earplugs (helpful in a hostel anyway).

The staffs are friendly and helpful. I got to the place around 6am due to early morning flight. They were able to get me a temporary bed to stay before my room is ready to check in. I got a very nice sleep :)

Stayed for a night here as needed to go to The Ministry of Internal Affairs for my work permit. The emails I received prior to check in were really helpful and was able to WhatsApp a couple of queries I had which was great. Staff were super friendly, room and showers were perfect, breakfast was DELICIOUS. Would definitely come back. Only negative was their restaurant was quite expensive and the food wasn’t that great but you don’t have to eat there if you don’t want to. :)

great backpackers. had a lovely atmosphere. felt very secure. food was great. wifi always worked. clean. we stayed here on three separate occasions.
