The Drop Inn

Lovely hostel. Staff were great, full of like-minded travellers so a positive atmosphere, super clean. City centre is a 10 minute tuk tuk ride away.

This is an amazing hostel connected to a local Cambodian man Kim trying to do amazing work and making change in the community. Visitors have the opportunity to volunteer at the school next door and connect with the kids learning English. All the proceeds from the hostel go towards the school and everyone is really friendly and inviting. I didn’t get the chance to volunteer because of the New Year but I still enjoyed my stay a lot!

Lovely hostel atmosphere because all the guests are like-minded and Kim + his family (who run the place) are absolute gems. Facilities are always clean, the Aircon is fantastic in the dorm and the food at the restaurant is tasty. Kim will rent you a scooter for a good price and the place is quiet and peaceful at night, but only a ten min drive from pub street (tuktuks are cheap). I wish I could stay longer

Absolutely amazing hostel, ten minutes by tuck tuck, lovely air conditioning and great showers. Loved eating with Kim and his family, lovely food and great hospitality. Loved meeting the kids at the school although I didn't volunteer I will definitely come back and support. I loved that all proceeds go to running the school and helping disadvantaged children learn the English language and learn new skills. Was close to all main attractions which can be paid for in house for the going local rate.

Loved the relaxed vibe of the location not being a party hostel. It was great to be beside the school and volunteering there was an. Unreal experience can’t recommend it enough. The hostel is clean and cozy and has everything you need. There’s a shop and restaurant 30 seconds walk away and plenty of other stuff in the nearby village. Great hostel and great experience at new dream school can’t wait to come back.

I had an incredible and unique stay at Drop Inn. If you want to gain a deeper understanding of the local culture, this is the perfect place. You can teach English at the school, which is a lot of fun and also supports. In addition, once a month Kim travels to his home village to support families in need. Joining one of these visits is a powerful and eye-opening experience. My time at Drop Inn was far more than just a stay. It was an unforgettable experience. (For questions ask Kim)

This place feels like more than a hostel, it’s a home from home with a purpose. The school next door gives you a chance to help underprivileged children and do something incredible, staying at the drop inn is a contribution towards changing a child’s future. The hostel is clean, great air con, bathrooms are clean and tidy and the housekeepers keep the place in good shape, I booked all my tours through the hostel and they even have tuk tuk drivers to take you wherever you need. 100% recomme...

Fun stay at The Drop ended up volunteering for just over a week, really fun hanging out with Kimlean and the students. Everything you could need here, delicious food at the restaurant and laundry service. A nice quiet option outside of noisy Siem Reap. They have tuk tub service to get to town as well

Una experiencia genial de principio a fin. El lugar está muy bien conectado, lo que facilita muchísimo el día a día. Además, se nota que no es solo un negocio más: hay una verdadera implicación con prácticas sostenibles y con el entorno local. El trato del personal marca la diferencia, siempre atentos, cercanos y con buena energía. Y algo que valoro mucho: todo está muy cuidado y limpio, lo que hace que la estancia sea cómoda y tranquila. Me fui con muy buena impresión.

Great location, close to the school and just a short ride to the temples and city center, which makes everything super easy. I also love their focus on sustainability and supporting the local community. It feels good staying somewhere that actually cares. The staff are genuinely lovely and always happy to help, and the hostel is really clean too. Highly recommended!

If you are looking to stay in a quiet family orientated community the Drop Inn is the place before you. For anyone volunteering at the school next door the location is excellent and you are at the doorstep of the school every morning and evening! The facilities are great & Kim and has family look after your every need. Super local food is served in the restaurant next door whenever you need it also! The kids in the school are so enjoyable & fun to be around so this is a great experience for all!

BEDBUGS - DO NOT STAY HERE We had bedbugs in our dorm and the staff did not seem to care at all, particularly one male staff member who was very rude to me after I said I would be checking out immediately. His words were and I quote “we have bed bugs in our homes it’s fine” and “why are you making it such a big deal” so they are clearly not going to do anything to actually eradicate the infestation and will still allow guests to stay there. AVOID

Really enjoyed my time here. Mr.Kim made sure I was comfortable during my whole stay and just admirable what he’s done for his community. Really enjoyed my days here with the school and everyone involved.

One of the best and most impactful experiences while backpacking Asia! Staying here and volunteering at the school to teach the kids English is incredible, they are kind, smart, and eager to learn, in a safe and positive school. All the money from the hostel and activities goes directly to the school! The accommodations are simple, yet comfortable. I stayed in the private, which allowed me to get a bit more rest. Clean and comfy bed. The volunteers are like-minded. I completely recommend this!

Honestly, The Drop-Inn is one of those places that just feels good to be in. Everyone’s welcoming and the atmosphere is easygoing. What makes it special is the link with the local school — staying here really helps support the kids, and you can see the difference it’s making. It’s a great idea done with a lot of heart. If you want good vibes, kind people, and a stay that actually means something, you should definitely come here.

Ik ben zo blij dat ik ervoor gekozen heb om hier te verblijven tijdens m’n reis. Al het personeel zijn zo’n warme mensen met het hart op de juiste plek, zowel Kim en zijn familie, Hien, de leerkrachten, en al het andere personeel die er rondloopt, waardoor je je super welkom voelt!! Ook de kinderen zijn zo’n lieverdjes. Door hier te verblijven, eten en drinken te kopen, tours bij hun te boeken en te helpen in de klas kan je al een super grote impact maken, dus geef het een kans zou ik zegg...

We had a great stay at The Drop Inn and was such an amazing experience. I highly recommend you stay here, see Kim’s school and volunteer if you have the time. I wish we could’ve stayed longer as I think you’d have an even better experience staying a week or longer to properly get involved with the school and what they’re doing.

It was an Incredible expérience to Stay in Kim’s hostel and Volunteer here, I would have Stay more if I didn’t had my Flight. Never seen somewhere people keeps extend that way. Thanks you very much for everything

Awesome place. Highly recommended. It will be the best thing you do while travelling. Such a rewarding experience to be able to volunteer and give back to the community you are staying in and help poor children to get a good education. 10/10
