Hostal los Algarrobos

Hostel delivered what we needed: private room, own bathroom, working air conditioner & TV. No bed bugs (I travel A LOT & pulled the sheets to check), but some signs of small ants roaming around. Staff was very professional & accommodating (safety lock box had an issue with the keypad, so the man gave us the key specific to this box to use). Breakfast (included) was basic continental style; that was all we needed. Security @night was a bit laxed, we came back around 10PM & no one @the front desk.

The check-out time is 10:00 AM little away from the attractions.

Have no comment on staff. Nobody really said anything other than good morning. Rooms were cleaned every day by staff but that didn’t stop any of the many types of insects and bugs that wandered in. Especially ants on the bedspread. Bit noisy in the morning as there were no seals around the windows or doors and you can hear dogs barking all hours of the day. Location is very convenient to the airport. Enjoyed the hot/cold water tap in the reception area.

Room was great location super handy staff weren’t super helpful but were pleasant enough

The hostel looks nice, which is why I booked a room here, but they ended up over booking and putting me in a hotel with no services somewhere else in town, but charged me for the original room I had booked.

The room was comfortable. Certain parts had been overlooked though during cleaning (toilet & a couple hairs on the bed). I told the guy who checked me in and he asked what I would like to do. I had already cleaned it myself with wipes that I brought so I stayed in the room and removed the hairs from the bed. It’s a few blocks/quick walk to the waterfront. They do have a water bottle refill station which is nice.

It’s more like a hotel than a hostel. The location was good and the rooms were spacious and clean.
