Moon Bar Hostel

The place is located right next to the only bar in town, so expect music until around 3–4 AM. The two dorm rooms are perfectly fine, although there isn’t much space. The two women who work there are incredibly sweet and will help you with anything.

Lovely, the receptionist was so helpful, booking our brilliant island tour, van transportation, even offering to drop me at the bus station. She is always available and so friendly and nice. The bar next door is good fun too, open late and good price. The accommodation itself is great, the bed are a small double, very comfortable and private. The bathrooms are clean and good water pressure/temperature. The social area has a gorgeous view and plenty of space to sit and chill. Would defo recommend

The hostel is a bit small and boring if you are not going out. However, the location is beautifull and the centre is walkable even tough it might seem pretty far on the map. staff at the reception took me to my room and showed me around. Overall a good experience, just a little less social than i'm used to

Not very central, but still reachable by foot (10 minutes from the center/bus terminal).

For the price it is okay, especially since we came at a time we’re there were no free beds in Port Barton. But I feel you can get a better and cleaner Hostel for the same price. It is okay but you can get a better value for your money

During my stay in Port Barton I tried a few different hostels and settled on Moon Bar for the long term. Compared to other hostels in the area, the facilities were clean and the beds were top tier. They have some very nice double wide beds that are much more spacious, private, and cozy compared most other hostels across the world. The staff were friendly and very accommodating. My only feedback is that I wish the common area furniture was little more comfortable, but it is beautiful and relaxing

Bra storlek på dormen, sängarna bra storlek och ägaren var riktigt snäll och hjälpte med allt.

Bed bugs on the bed. Reported it to the receptionist, but she didn’t take it seriously at all. Double check your bed before you sleep.

Best part is the wide air conditioned beds. You do have to go outside for bathrooms but the shower can be set to hot. Sometimes staff neglect to replace tp or water but normally there is drinking water; no way to get hot water for your tea or coffee. Bar is 50 meters away and becomes a locals hangout from midnight until 3 or 4am. You can hear in background from your bed but aircon covers most outside noises. I didn't find breakfast ever available nor did I try the restaurant. It has a view

When we first got there we were told we were in separate rooms because ‘everyone else had already checked in’ even though it was under the same booking for 2 beds in the 9 dorm and the staff were a bit rude about it. The showers smelt of chlorine but were kinda clean, the towels had stains on and so did the walls in my bed. However the bed was comfy but the room was tiny basically no where to put your stuff.

when we arrived to this hostel, the staff were very cold and unwelcoming, we arrived in our room, we think our towels weren’t fully washed as they seemed very dirty still and damp, they did not give me a locker key and I had my purse stolen from my bag that was in my locker which could not be locked. I told the staff and was very upsettingly laughed at which is not the response you would expect after telling someone this! The facilities were okay other than this just made me lose trust in them...

I really liked this hostel, the beds were really big, big enough to have two pillows. The room was comfortable although the walk space is small. Not heaps social but the bar right next door does get pretty rowdy around 11:30 at night

Le logement pourrait être bien mais les matelas sont trop ancien (affaissement) pour dormir confortablement. De plus, la boite de nuit et le karaoké en face n'aide non plus à pouvoir se reposer se qui est l'essentiel du lieu. Cependant, le staff qui s'occupe du lieu sont très gentil et les sanitaires sont ok

Bon hostel à Port Barton avec une très belle vue! Il y a le bar adjacent à l'hostel donc la musique peut déranger jusqu'à tard la nuit. Les lits sont spacieux, confortables et très intimes! Le personnel est adorable. Côté rangement, il y a juste un petit tiroir que l'on peut barrer avec une clé.

Very loud music until 4 in the morning each day. Water was shut off and they only started the repairs far into the next day. Couldn’t shower and flush the toilet for 24 hours as a result. Little flies everywhere in the bathrooms. Personel was very uninterested and unfriendly, looking at his phone while we were talking to him. Only nice thing is the view from the terrace, which was beautiful and the beds, that are quite large and clean.

Spacious beds, very private in the beds too. Beautiful location but it is a 10 minute walk away from the main restaurants and bars etc. The water ran out everyday we were there (for showers, washing hands and flushing toilets) but they had filtered tap water we could use to refill bottles.

Clean and comfy beds, really sweet owners! Location was totally fine and music didnt bother me
