Hostal Casa del Angel

Interesting one. I liked the kitchen and how there was iguanas inside the hostel. location was right on edge of mazunte so a little farfar out. Owner is very stressed man, he was nice to me but he kicked out some of my friends for making some noise coming home late. threatened them with violence etc.

First, the location is terrible: near the main road without any pavement to walk safely, you have to walk on the road which is really dangerous at night. Despite two big fans in the room it was impossible to sleep, and they don’t provide mosquito nets so your surrounded by mosquitos at night. Last but not least, the staff wasn’t kind either.

I stayed in 12 people room in mid-Nov and it was crazy hot there.The fans didn't make the job so everybody was sweating. There were mosquito nets around each bed unfortunately I was bitten by the bed bugs in this place :(.I showed the bites to the owner but he said that these are mosquito but he removed the mattress just in case and gave me some kind of medicine for mosquitos bites. After it turned out these are bed bugs the owner didn't reply to my e-mail.Better avoid the dorms for your safety!

Very very dirty place, both room and toilets. No toilet paper in the bathrooms and full of insects and animals on beds and WC. The room did not have windows or curtains so we could sleep only until workers at the facility started fixing stuff with drilling machine next to our room walls. Every morning! Only plus of this place is the price, however for similar price you can have much more around the same area.

No atmosphere at all, girl at the reception is not friendly and the room was incredibly hot (fan works for maybe 3 beds). The pool didn’t have a place to sit next to. Kitchen was okay. I was happy I wasn’t in the highest bed because that’s a challenge to climb

El dueño de este hostal no tiene educación, al igual que es sumamente notorio que tiene problemas cuando una mujer lo cuestiona. En mi estadía ingresó una persona que se veía claramente que tenia serios severos problemas de salud mental, desde que llegó esa persona al hostal se nos quedaba viendo, no dormí en toda la noche por el miedo, al día siguiente los huéspedes del cuarto se dieron cuenta que había defecado en su cama, yo era la única en el cuarto que hablaba español y me pidie...

The room was alright, the triple bunks not so good for anyone in the second or third bunk! Difficult to get into because of the mosquito net and really hot. Mosquito nets were a nice idea but they had holes in them. Bathroom was alright but there was only one between 12 people, and there’s two outside toilets that were quite dirty. Biggest concern was lack of security, no lockers to keep bags in, anyone could have walked straight off the street and taken our stuff. There were just small locker...

I arrived and could instantly pick up how grumpy the hostel owner was. I had a long day of travelling and asked the owner if I could leave my bags and get food and cash to pay for the hostel. He instantly erupted and said I could not stay if I didn't pay now. i had no money and so could not pay. I left my bags with a friend who only had enough money to pay for themselves and had to sleep rough for the night as nowhere was open. It does the basics - privides a bed - but not much more. A few things I didn't like a out this place: triple bunks (to terrible for the people at the top and means there was too many people for the space in the room, they dod not provide drinking water (they have water in the kitchen with a sign telling people not to fill their bottles), the staff are not there a lot of the time (during my stay someone arrived at the hostel to check in but the staff had gone home, the wifi was terrible.

Was surprising more comfortable than I imagined after a first look. The bunks are three tiers high but the beds were quite comfortable and a mosquito net is provided. Facilities are basic but had what I needed. Right on the start of Mazunte so okay locarion as long as you don’t mind a bit of an uphill walk to get back to the hostel

I had a great stay here. Close to the beach (well, the town is tiny and everything is close to the beach). The facilities were super clean, plenty of toilets. One can chill peacefully at the pool. I loved the fact that all bunk beds had a mosquito nest. Also, the kitchen was well equipped (including a big fridge), and this was great for the fact that most restaurants in town are a bit overpriced, so it's optimal for budget travellers who want to cook at the hostel to save some money.

This hostel is okay. Kinda dirty but does the trick.

Good points: nice fellow travellers, nice pool and chilling areas, lots of trees, kitchen, not too far from town Bad points: hostel staff don’t make the beds, which is very awkward for people on the top of a triple bunk, hostel staff didn’t answer the bell in the morning until 11am, reception was empty a lot of the time so not very secure.
