Stayed here for several days. Timor Leste is a difficult country to get to so the hostel is a bit quiet sometimes but the facilities are nice and staff are super helpful so if you are coming to Dili, I would highly recommend
Good option for those who like something more humble and cheap. The staff is really helpfull and kind. The bungalow rooms are not suitable during raining season, as it rains inside, but the main house's ones are huge and comfortable.
Thank you Rosa, Nacia, and Eza for a great visit- they made me feel so at home.
We really enjoyed our stay here! The hostel is a very cozy place with a nice common area and the staff Rosa, Nelsia and Eza were very welcoming and kind. It‘s also possible to rent motorbikes from the hostel.
Great place to explore Dili. Quiet neighborhood, lovely and friendly staff. Tasty food. Definitely recommend!
Wow! What a wonderful hostel! The staff were truly amazing and the other guests there were super friendly. I really enjoyed the location which is easily accessible by the mikrolet. Once arriving, there was plenty of information on how to get around and sights to see. I also had some of the best hostel food ever here. Everything is super fresh. Overall DaTerra was a comfy place with a great atmosphere!
This is was a beautiful place to stay right near the beach in Bebonuk, Dili. Eza, Nelcia, Rosa, and Mingas made my stay so nice :) a great place to relax and delicious food!
Cosy hostel with a great garden and atmosphere in a friendly neighbourhood. I was there during the off season and there were still lots of travellers to meet. I appreciated the close proximity to the airport and city. Awesome, happy, helpful staff who prepared good healthy food, Highly recommend this hostel.
Minggas & Ezha made my stay truly warm. This is my first time staying at a hostel. The rest of the guests were such friendly people and had good sharing moments and hugs too with them. I understand DaTerra provides breakfast but I was out every morning by 6am to 6.30am, they provide water… I had my own room, and I hear that it was the cheapest room but I thought it was the most expensive. Pleasure to have met Fernando too. Yes a good location because I got to hang out with the local fa...
Sonia and staff were so lovely! Felt super welcome and comfortable. They helped so much with anything I needed, any questions I had and also have a laundry service which was great. Place is super clean and tidy, rooms are perfect and breakfast was delicious. Obrigado barak!
The Guesthouse is really nice and because it is a bit remote also more quiet. A beautiful place to arrive and have a station in Dili. The staff is amazing, super kind, will help you with your Tetun - if you wanna learn some - and is always there to help you out. They are cooking really good, too! Definitely recommended.
Amazing shower facilities and amazing stuff, but the place itself is a mess. Pro: good breakfast, great staff, no WiFi!! Con: mosquitos and mosquitos, one rat, and owner a bit stiff in accomodating mistakes (paid for a double booking). Cherry: backpackers are awesome.
AC worked. Bed was huge. Downside of the room was a connecting door to some kind of living room from locals. It was only covered by thin wood. Was loud and light was shining through. No go was the dinner: first all guest waited 1,5 h. Finally dinner came around 8:30pm. Not 7 pm as told. Second, several guests ordered Veggie meal. But they were served chicken! When asked explanation was: we ran out of tofu. Don't eat there. Overpriced for what you get. Dili has great food options around the city.
Nice place and fairly priced for Dili. The staff are great chefs, so recommend getting lunch and dinner as it's all super fresh and tasty. We paid for laundry there and sadly it came back quite smelly. Only other criticism is that it seems to attract a really unpleasant crowd. Lots of obnoxious and disrespectful people, but not the staff's fault! They were all lovely!
Absolutely loved our stay at Daterra and highly recommend anyone visiting Dili to stay there. The location is ideal, the hostel has a very homely feel and Lucy and Taysa are so friendly, nice and make sure u are well looked after.
The hostel has a nice location, the breakfast is quite good. On the other side, the cheapest option for $12 is to sleep on a mattress on the floor in a pity chalet outside. The are rats and coakroaches, bedbugs inside the bed. At night its a hell to sleep sometimes with the nearby dogs and cocks starting to make noise just next to the chalet at 4am. The rooms inside were better, but this chalet outside is an absolute disgrace that is not worth the $12.
Both the female staff were outstanding and the dinner and breakfast was very very delicious.
