Really gutted that they're closing soon. Guy running it was super friendly and exactly who I would have wanted to see on 3 1/2 hours of sleep. Beds were comfy, shower worked as intended and it is miles better than most hostels within close proximity (and even some private hotels too!) Hope whoever I saw when I checked out has better luck with whatever venture he does in the future.
Comfortable bed and clean bathroom. :) The kitchen is clean aswell, but has a pretty strong smell (probably because it's in the basement and it can't be ventilated that well). The location is amazing, the hostel is just a few steps away from the beach. Super easy check-in and check-out and the staff was very nice when i had a problem with the shower.
no reception or similar, beds have a power outlet each. im not sure the sheets on my bed were fresh to be honest. there's one bathroom with shower and toilet per floor, which is not a lot. good for a cheap night in brighton, but not more.
Great friendly staff, great place. Thank you for a great week ☺️
Really enjoyed the stay. Great, clean rooms, clean kitchen and cosy lounge. Warm shower. Brilliant location walkable to the beach and the town.
Decent spot nice big kitchen - rooms with lots of natural light and good bathroom. Bedsheets could have been cleaner. I would not book this place out of season as the staff does not work on site - as a result the hostel was mostly deserted when I was there.
Really enjoyed my stay here. Rooms were very clean- appreciate the towel that came with the room. Shower was private and bathroom clean. Bed comfortable and the staff - incredibly friendly and nice. I’d definitely come back. The location is writhing walking distance to most everything. Great place to stay!
Very bad dank basement housing kitchen,no hot water on bathroom basin, erratic reception hours, hand towels are dank and old, wifi erratic, hot water on 3rd floor shower comes and goes.Wanted to complain to reception about extreme snorrer on top bunk on 3rd floor but reception wasn't around when you needed them.Pillows smelt bad.
Pros: I really liked the lounge area, free milk and extention leads in the kitchen, staff were lovely and pretty lenient with checkout times (shoutout to the cleaner for letting me sleep in until 11am!) Cons: shower on the third floor was unusable due to nonexistent pressure and wild fluctuations in temperature. No staff on property past 2pm which made renting a towel impossible. My lock was somewhat faulty so it would be easy to break in to my room without knowing the code.
I’m surprised by the high rating of this hostel, facilities are ok but they all need a deep clean. Random splatters and drips on the walls and very dirty floors. The beds were comfortable at least. The lack of security and presence of reception did not make me, a solo traveller feel the safest. Good location close to the beach.
Great location. Only feedback would be that the shower does not get warm (first floor) and there is only one outlet in the room.
Small, pretty basic hostel in a cute old building with an amazing location - my room even had a view over the sea! Comfy, sturdy bunk beds and a nice, clean bathroom. The common areas are quite small and not the best for meeting fellow travellers, but my roommates were lovely and we had a great time hanging out! The luggage storage lockers were too small for standard cabin size luggage and the towel I rented (for free) wasn't the freshest, but John fixed both issues when I asked, so always ask!
It’s a family style accommodation. For me, it was a pleasant experience, the pillow and bed were very comfortable!
Not bad. Pretty rough guests.
Nice hostel to stay at. Friendly staff, clean, comfy beds, well equipped kitchen.. Would definitely visit again
BED BUGS!!! I stayed at the Seadragon hostel for only one night in August, and the next evening I was covered in bed bug bites. They were swollen and painful and took weeks to go down. The reaction was bad as it is my first time experiencing bed bug bites. I contacted the hostel straight away to let them know, and an employee named John said he saw no bugs, but confirmed he found signs of an infestation. When I asked for proof from the fumigators of their visit, they ignored my calls and email...
Me and my friend stayed here for a few nights in our own two bed dorm. We ate out so we didn't use the kitchen etc, but it seemed fine. Toilet and shower room was basic and clean. The location was good - the sea front was down one end, and there were lots of shops and a good selection of restaurants and takeaways on the road at the other end. The staff were really helpful and friendly. We didn't have any problems with noise and it was good value for money.
You can get better hostel for the same value or less, it’s okay for one night but the beds are not confortable nor the pillow, the towels are overused and the bathroom is quite dirty and not hot water in the evening. There is no privacy curtain and the plug was far away from my bed I could not access it from it. The self check in instructions are easy to use though.
Sehr nette und aufmerksame Mitarbeiter, gute Zimmer und bequeme Betten. Die Küche könnte besser entlüftet/entfeuchtet werden und ein bisschen besser ausgestattet sein.
All good thanks ☺️
