The Islander Chiang Mai

Great location, there was a morning and night market about 2 mins away every single day! Also a huge market on Saturday’s. Good pub crawl, Thursday and Sunday only. Bathrooms don’t have great ventilation but they are roomy for showers. The staff were very good. You get a towel during your stay! The lockers they give are very small, you can only fit a small backpack in them, so if you like to lock your entire bag up, you can’t, but still felt safe leaving my stuff out.

Smaller lounge area so if you’re looking for a place to lounge around, it might not be the place, but besides that, it’s perfect! The staff are incredibly nice and helpful and genuinely want to help. It’s extremely social and with it being a smaller area, it makes it really easy to meet people!! Such a good spot, only thing is that it’s far from 7/11 (5 minute walk lol);)

Stayed here for Songkran 2025, the experience was very good and memerable, and the staff + volunteer made it extra fun! The location is good and quiet, but a bit of a walk from most places worthwhile. The beds were all comfortable.

One of the best hostels I ever stayed in! Very social vibe and great staff! Special shootout to Ai, Taya and Sarah for making the nights out this good! And also a shootout to Pk, Aummy and of course Baby for being such great hostel members! Wanted to stay here just a few nights and got stuck. Will definitely come back one day because it feels like a home away from home. THANK YOU GUYS 🫶🏻

Very social hostel with s great location. Rooms were clean and beds were comfortable. All the staff and volunteers were super helpful for recommendations or organizing transport/tours, especially Ai! Enjoyed my stay enough that I decided to come back to stay when I return.

I can easily say that The Islander is the best hostel I ever stayed in. The crew: Taya, Baby, PK and Alex made sure we felt amazing and welcomed. The vibe was just great, if you’re a solo traveler you can meet loads of people here and have a lot of fun I. Chiang Mai. They offer many trips and attractions, rooms are very clean and comfortable and it’s just a perfect place to stay while in this part of Thailand. Definitely recommend it!

Had a really nice stay. Beds were comfortable and rooms were clean. Good location 5 minutes outside old quarter. The hostel is quite small so you get to know people. We met so many Danes 🇩🇰 reception is nice and so are the reps (AI and Sarah). The only downside is the smell in the toilets and small common room.

Probably one of the best hostels I’ve ever stayed at. The beds are very comfortable, and you get two pillows and a proper blanket. Shampoo and body wash are also provided in the showers. You’re given a small locker to safely store your valuables, which is really convenient. The staff—especially Ai, Taya, Baby, and PK—were incredibly friendly and helpful in every situation. Best hostel in Chiang Mai, small but amazing facilities and great for meeting people. Taya and Baby are just the best. Would recommend anyone to stay.

Really lovely hostel, it’s both social and quiet which was so nice. Bed really comfortable and clean. The bathrooms the first day weren’t clean (hair on the walls and round the sink, dead flies all over the floor of the shower) and were sometimes dirty throughout our stay. The bedrooms were really clean, and when the bathrooms were clean they were fine! I would still recommend to anyone staying in chiang mai

One of my favourite hostels so far. Plan lots of activities for you for good prices and is very social downstairs even on non pub crawl nights. Taya was always socialising with us and baby and ai were great on the bar and playing cards! Highly recommend

Probably my favorite hostel I have stayed in! Nice beds with full curtains, clean bathrooms. Bar area was really sociable with one long table. Staff were excellent, extremely friendly and helpful particularly Baby and Taya!

Great place, clean, comfy and made all the better by staff member Taya who is always welcoming and inviting. She does her best to make everyone feel included and looked after!

I really enjoyed my stay here. Very clean facilities and comfortable rooms. The social area made it super easy to meet and chat to new people. Since the hostel was quite small, everything felt very personal and genuine.

The hostel has a friendly, social vibe that makes it easy to meet other travelers, but it’s still chill enough to relax and sleep well. Dorms were clean and comfortable, with privacy curtains and lockers (not big enough for bags). Staff were helpful and the overall atmosphere was welcoming. Activities able to book with the hostel.
