I would highly recommend the Santa Maria Hostel in fort kochi. The staff are super nice and welcoming. The whole vibe of the hostel is friendly and chilled out
santa maria is a good property with good vibes, have stayed often , the place has a good chill vibe , if you into music and jamming do visit it
Stayed at multiple hostels in Fort Kochi and this one had by far the best artistic and social atmosphere. As a female traveller it was nice to have a sense of support and people around. Highly recommend.

Great location and good spot if you want to be social. Overall quality of the rooms/bathrooms is pretty low but the place is inexpensive so it’s what you should expect
The place is so nice, the staff is super warm and helpful! The lady at the reception is lovely and makes your stay as good as possible! I definitely recommend this hostel!
good location and nice staff but very badly kept. The fans were so dirty i was worried about what the hell im breathing in every night and the room was only baseline clean. The shower in my room on the second floor was barely working every time of day and there was no warm water. In feneral i didnt think the facilities they list are as shown on here. The chill out spot on the 3rd floor isnt really anything cause there are people sleeping there too so you cant even really talk and the common room...
Nie wieder! Die Klimaanlage im Zimmer war wegen starkem Uringeruch unbenutzbar, auch das Treppenhaus roch unangenehm. Das Zimmer war nicht wirklich sauber. Tagsüber und abends lautes Hämmern an den Wänden, einmal sogar bis 21:30 Uhr, nachts erneut um 1 Uhr. Zudem lief von morgens bis spät nachts laute Musik. Große Kakerlake im Zimmer, die ein Mitarbeiter immerhin freundlich entfernt hat. Auf Kritik wurde insgesamt nicht eingegangen.
Great location, solid hostel. Owner is a gem, he will always help a traveler in need. A great experience over all. Watch out for the mosquitos in the non-AC dorms, would recommend the AC dorm every night of the week.
Didn’t feel safe at this hostel, was put in a female dorm but in the middle of the night a man came into our room and slept in the bunk above us. Didn’t feel safe at all or like we could say anything so just left and checked out quickly.
Great staff and vibe, I had booked with breakfast but left early for a trip, so they offered me something for when I returned in the evening. Bathrooms were dirty and the AC was too cold (22 degrees Celsius) and they couldn’t turn it up -I requested an extra blanket and slept with my clothes on. Location wasn’t great for my plans but it might be perfect for yours! All in all a fine stay :)
The staff was not co-operating, the amenities are not as mentioned, on asking the owner of the hostel to look into the matter, owner was drunk and talked rudely, asked to leave even though I had booked and paid for whole stay duration.
Had a great time in Santa Maria in Kochi. The staff was really helpful and nice and the meals were delicious as well as the home made juices. The hostel is located at the heart of Fort Kochi and I was lucky enough to visit while the Biennale Festival was on which was amazing and really interesting. A little bit noisy at night but overall great experience

I don’t recommend this place at all. Everything, literally everything was dirty and smelly. Room was full of mosquitos and pretty hot as well cause the fan was not enough for the room. The is a age downstairs with pretty loud music everyday. Is impossible to ejoy the place at all. Besides that there was not water in the room. I asked the reason why and the receptionist told “it’s just like this, the pump is not enough”. I didn’t no offer any kind of solution or assistance. I couldn’...
The hostel was good, good vibe and location, and most of the staff were lovely. There was an incident where one of the staff members had been drinking, and I woke up to find him standing next to my bed (I was alone in a female dorm) watching me. One of the girls staying in the hostel explained that she had asked him to grab something from the room, but I later found out management had asked her to lie to me about this, and this was not true. However, management were very apologetic the next day.

Photo’s do not do its justice. Really worn off place, common areas are sandy and dirty and shower had mould. Bed didn’t seem clean, the sheets were more there to look good. Staff was nice, location is good.
Great place to stay in the heart of Fort Kochi near the main water metro station.
