Leider sehr dunkles hellhöriges Zimmer ohne Fenster
I have no idea why this hostel is rated so high. The property itself is right next to a busy road and there is road noise starting at 530am and goes all day. The rooms are large but no insulation so its very loud so you can hear anyone talking or walking around. The staff put someone in the room right on top of me when they weren't even full and it makes no sense. I was supposed to stay there for 3 nights and only stayed for one and the owner still wanted to collect VAT from me. The bed is stif...
Solo traveler! Everything was super clean, and had a really nice HOT shower!! The bed was a bit stiff and there was no AC. I felt super safe in the big city. The staff was super nice and informative! Definitely recommend and will stay again before or after hoping on a bus!!
I loved staying here with my wife and daughter. The room was comfortable, and had a nice shower and TV. "The Corner" restaurant attached is excellent, pizza and pasta were great. My daughter loved the books in the hidden library, and the comfortable common area. Staff are very kind and happy to help plan tours, transport, or advice on the local area. 10/10 Casa Aldea
Good night stay in San Jose for the night. Polite and helpful staff. Felt safe since it’s a code to get in and out and there was a tasty restaurant next door :)
Sehr schöne, grosse und saubere Zimmer mit Warmwasser-Duschen in einem schönen altem Gebäude. Staff war nett und hilfsbereit. Da es nur sehr wenig Leute hatte, war die Atmosphäre nicht so grossartig.
I liked my stay in Aldea, as a digital nomad, appreciated the good Internet, safety and the good attention from all. Thanks, and see you some other time.
This hostel is located in a fantastic area. It has restaurant on the property which makes it convenient. It includes breakfast every morning which I found very tasty. You are given a choice of a regular or a traditional Costa Rican. The place is quiet, very safe and the staff is nice. What I found challenging is the room noise as I was on the first floor but it was fine once quiet time began. The bathroom shower didn’t have a traditional drain so I experienced lots of mosquito bites.
This hostel was great! Staff and food too!
We stayed in a private room for 2, but actually given a large room with 2 beds (1 queen, 1 full). The staff was extremely nice and helpful as far as providing suggestions for things to do. The owner mentioned how Casa Aldea used to be a hostel and is more of a bed & breakfast now, which can definitely be felt in the cleanliness and vibe. In other words, we were easily the youngest people there, the other guests were middle aged, but that was not a problem to us. The free breakfast was great. The...
Beautiful old building located close to downtown. Manager is friendly and helpful. Rooms need maintenance, updating. Very cold at night, casement windows with huge air gaps, sheets that don’t fit correctly on beds, blanket wasn’t clean.
