The property is old. It doesn't look like anything as potrayed. The whole activity space were some people sleeping with no games or whatsoever. The whole place was a mess. Property doesn't have a kitchen nor a clean drinking water. No toiletries were provided nor were the charging ports working. Property is very small i.e. a building with 3 floors and a small lawn. No good views nearby. Won't recommend for any female solo travellers.
I recently stayed at Trippr Kodaikanal Backpacker Hostel and it was a huge disappointment. Here’s why: **Cleanliness (3/5):** The hostel was just moderately clean, not meeting basic standards. **Friendliness (0/5):** The staff were extremely unfriendly and unhelpful, creating an unwelcoming atmosphere. **Location (3/5):** The location is average, with better options available in Kodaikanal. **Facilities (1/5):** Poorly maintained with non-functional amenities. **Atmosphere (1/5):** Lacked...
This is a great stay & value for money but only for people who are coming with their own vehicles/who are coming in large groups . Since this hostel is 5-6 kms from Kodaikanal bus stand, cabs will charge heavily for example: 500 rs from kodiakanal bus stand to this hostel. And if you are coming alone / a group of 2, travel to hostel is expensive and there are hardly any restaurants available nearby hostel. So, group of 2/solo without any personal vehicle should look for accomodation nearby city...
I loved my stay at Trippr Kodai. It has a laid back atmosphere with lovely surroundings. The Spice of Life cafe near by has a lovely view and great food. Very friendly staff and made a few friends there. Will definitely come back soon!
Unfortunately it seems the photos were taken about 5-10 years ago when the property was in better condition. The 4 bed dorm walls were damp with mould so we could not stay there. Mattress was also rock hard. This is the only hostel I've experienced where they take the full payment on the first day of the stay and now I understand why.
Lots of partying and puking happened during my visit. the volunteer was always high with his buddies. you can't count on the lockers provided there. be sure to carry your own padlock. the stairs and common area can be clean. but if you are on a budget, looking for an offbeat experience, you would need a space to sleep, this can be a good spot for you. the hike from naidupuram to samyuktha is a good addition to the trip. the place is quiet and you can go around the hostel to wind yourself down.
I left early, becouse I absolutely hated it. Staff was nice, and they had warm water in toilet — so could have been worse I guess.. It was just ugly and dirty and nit comftarble. Maybe a bit cheaper, but the location is far and there is only one super expensive cafe nearby for food. Also their taxi partner is expensive compaired to offering.
It's a nice remote place to chill out, walk around in nature and enjoy views. Good social energy in the place. Don't expect too much in terms of comfort and cleanliness. The nights are quite chilly up there and the hostel really needs to upgrade to proper warm blankets.
Great space, great people, great time
Hostel is nice. It's not luxurious, however the vibe and peaceful location is amazing. You can meet here lot of backpackers. The staff is super cool.
I had a great time staying at this hostel. Very quiet and peaceful surroundings. It's a little bit out of the way from the towncentre, but there is a lovely restarestant just a stown's throw away that serves all day which was really ideal. Great place for anyone looking to unwind from the hustle and bustle. Staff are very friendly, welcoming and ready to assist.
Mehul is the host and he is the best man. He sets the vibe of the place. Great view and valleys around. You can go down hill with the stream to trip. You can trek with Mehul, he'll show you around good places. Great place to vibe! Host is awesome
First off, it's really far from town so you'll have to spend 400 on taxi everytime. Does not have a cafe and there's only 1 nearby cafe. Biggest problem is that the manager Kartik is high all the time and has to sense of what is happening around him. If you want peace then you can select this hostel otherwise go for zostel, dostel or hostel Jerusalem
Probably the best hostel I’ve ever stayed in which has lots to do with kishore who was helpful in any way you could think of without asking. Great outside area for fires and other common areas to meet people as well. Definitely recommend as best place to stay in kodaikanal, hope to be back.
The location is good but the stay in itself has a lot of room for improvement. Internet issue was present for most of the day, dorm was kind of dingy and cramped. Expected the experience to be a lot better.
