The staff is absolutely super! Great activities planned with true local people. I found my bed really comfortable and got used to the dogs barking in the street. I would definitely come back! If the rooftop was done up as a common area it would be a 10/10 for me
A lovely hostel with a calm and chill vibe, away from the main streets. Majo and the team took such good care of me and I enjoyed my stay with them very much. It’s the perfect place to rest while enjoying San Juan and they offer very cool local-based activities. In general, I find it very genuine and harmonic. My only feedback is that the doors to the dorms need a bit more insulation, as it can get a bit noisy from the common area and the street. Thank you team!
Amazing hostel, staff are so lovely and friendly! Really recommend
There is only one bathroom for the house. It’s located on the edge of town. The shower is either blistering hot or freezing cold. No in between, and honestly a struggle. I decided to just not shower. Overall, tho, it’s a fun little place. More chill vibes with a focus on Guatemalan culture. No partying.
Staff don’t speak English but wasn’t a problem. Comfy beds, clean, respectful environment everything one needs in a hostel. If you are looking for a party hostel this isn’t it, otherwise I couldn’t recommend more. This might just be the best sleep of your whole trip, it was mine.
no kitchen& a bit out of the way from the center. It is a very small hostel, only two rooms and two bathrooms, so it feels a bit claustrophobic, especially since the common area has limited seating. The dogs are very loud at night, but that is everywhere in San Juan. I was a bit apprehensive staying here at first, but the host was very friendly and made me some food & I also got to do a bee tour & a weaving tour with them which was great! although it was a small hostel, I met some cool people!
Staff are really helpful. Elena, Majo, and the volunteers were all very friendly and welcoming. San Juan is a very artistic place, and the staff rub several artistic classes there. I highly recommend the embroidery class!! would definitely stay there again. not to mention the friendly dogs and cats! only downside is no kitchen or utensils to cut or plates of any kind.
Would 100% recommend staying here. Nice chilled atmosphere, with lovey people, especially Majo (Who works there). They run lots of cool activities that help get you immersed in the local community. We did the cultural tour (Weaving, chocolate, honey & art) & the local dinner, where we had a lovely evening at someone’s house. The added bonus is the pets, it was lovely to hang around with the dogs.
Super sweet hostel, So Cosy with only 2 dorm rooms and 9 beds in the whole hostel, Elena and Majo were really awesome hosts, thank you for the great ( please note bring strong earplugs, every town in Lake Atitilan have stray dogs, that bark loudly through the night, please prepare)
Lovelysmall place, super chill, very clean, comfortable beds and pillows. Hot showers, amazing and helful owner Mijo.
4 Elementos was very cozy! The bed was comfortable and they had a nice space for working remotely. I loved the cute black cat they have!
NO HOT WATER! NO SLEEP! NO GARDEN! If you just need a bed and are not bothered by dogs barking all night long - go for it. Otherwise no private light at your bed, nothing to store private things right next to you when sleeping and not even a power socket next to your bed… The garden shown in the pictures does not exist (which was actually the reason I booked this hostel). Also cleaning won’t wait till you’re awake. Pro about this Hostel: Good and cheap tours, mostly clean and made good fri...
Uno de los mejores hostales que me he quedado, principalmente por la dueña, el personal y las actividades que hacen. Son súper preocupados y logran crear un vínculo entre San Juan y los turistas. Pocos hostales logran realmente eso.
Loved my stay at 4 Elementos. It attracts really chill and friendly people. This is also the vibe of San Juan which feels more raw and authentic. There is some street noise depending so do bring ear plugs. Wifi good. Thank you Majo and Elena!
The beds were so comfortable, I didn’t want to get up anymore :D Elena and Maria were very welcoming and super helpful in helping me getting around in San Juan and doing some tours or taking shuttles. (Tours/workshops available are: coffee/cacao/cultural tour, Rostro Maya tour, weaving workshop …). I really enjoyed Elena‘s embroidery workshop. Sustainability and the community is important to them - which creates a very homey atmosphere for the guests as well (I wasn’t the only one sayin...
We loved our stay here! It was a quiet hostel but a lovely place to relax, recharge and enjoy the lake. Great offerings of tea/coffee/water, the owner is so lovely and can help with loads of activities, shuttles etc. Bonus points for the cute cat. Would recommended :)
Nice stay, I’d say it’s okay for the price. The staff were adorable. It’s very small so easy to make friends with the other people who stay there. Better to book the ensuite dorm bc otherwise there is only 1 bathroom available. So when it’s occupied there is no access to another sink, toilet or shower… The common areas is not the most comfortable and there are not a lot of chairs compared to the number of people staying there. However, they offer a lot of interesting tours & activitie...
We had a lovely stay at 4 elementos. The private room is very comfortable and they have a hot shower. Majo has so many interesting local tours and cultural activities to choose from and she organises everything for you. We would highly recommend the weaving workshop with Micaela, she is a great teacher and you get to keep what you make
