Las Cabanas De Mike

Mike is a great host! I had a really nice experience in las cabañas. The view is the best in all San Juan.. its difficult the las 100 meters but if you have a backpack its ok! The place is rustic but with a lot of heart and personality.. I would defenitly come back :)

Amazing!! Mike is an absolute gem and his place is magical. A lake-wide storm and power outage happened during our stay and Mike worked over time to make sure everyone was comfortable and dry. His dinner is delicious and if you are lucky you will get to experience some live music. This was mine and my partners favorite stay on our trip and I recommend it to anyone I meet heading out to San Juan!

This is definitely not for the faint of heart. It is a HIKE to get to it and a little confusing, but the view is worth it in my opinion. Best view of any hostel I've stayed in. There was also a guitar and cats, which I loved. Mike is a fantastic host. I had a hard time sleeping with the noise and the bed wasn't that comfy for me. So I'd recommend it for people who are interested in something unique that are willing to hike to get there.

Definitely 10 out of 10. A lot of love and passion went into this place, and the cats are simply adorable. Mike is a very chilled guy who has made this place something special.

We had an excellent stay at « Las cabañas de Mike »! The setting is just beautiful with breathtaking views of the mountains! Mike is truly a wonderful host and infinitely kind! Great welcome and family atmosphere, we felt right at home! There is also a bar and a superb terrace. We loved this hostel so much that we went back twice! Thank you again, Mike, for your hospitality, your good humor, and your trust! Your accommodation is by far the best we've had in Guatemala!

Väldigt trevligt och mysigt ställe! Ägaren är väldigt pratglad och hjälpsam. Han har byggt boendet själv vilket man verkligen kan känna i viben, men finns det man behöver! Varmvatten och dricksvatten 🤩Man kan köpa mat och dryck där till bra pris också! Det enda som är lite jobbigt är att boendet ligger uppe på berget så det är väldigt branta trappor upp. Det är däremot väldigt fin utsikt där uppe och djuren är en bonus!

Es un lugar precioso, muy rústico. Mike es muy amable, dispuesto a conversar y convivir con los huéspedes y Misael nos llevó a ver el amanecer al mirador y estaba super pendiente igual super amable y conversador. Está un poco retirado y sus escaleras están empinadas pero por lo mismo es super tranquilo y con unas vistas preciosas. Vale toda la pena! Me enamoré del lugar, sin duda volveré.

Super expérience, petite montée pour aller aux cabanes mais la vue vaut le détour ! Tranquillité, confort et bonne ambiance au rdv ! On recommande 100%

Really enjoyable stay! To be honest the way uphill to the Hostel can be a bit hard, but the view and quite you have at night is worth it! The host is really nice and helpful as well! Definitely a special hostel with the tree house feeling, would come again.

The host, Mike is great, friendly as heck..beds comfortable, clean, bathrooms are good, kitchen use great, quiet place just the way i like it...most amazing view of Mayan Nostra and of San Juan La Laguna...now the last part of hike is difficult...only a 100 feet...but WOW!!! the view is tranguil and amazing...great patio...thanks again Mike....will definitely stay again

Merci à Mike pour son accueil ! Choisir Las Cabañas de Mike c’est choisir une expérience unique et différente autour du lac Atitlan. La cabane est nichée sur les hauteurs de San Juan, il faut prendre son courage à deux mains pour grimper les marches qui y mènent, mais cela en vaut largement la peine ! Les chambres sont simples mais cela suffit, la cuisine est fonctionnelle. La vue sur le village, le lac et l’Indian Noise. Mike cuisine très bien + bonus chats mignons

Wonderful! Amazing view! Cute animals! Avocados in the backyard. Like being part of a family. Super cosy. Was there in January and it got a little cold at night and be prepared for the stairs to get to the property. The view is worth it though!

We loved our time spent at Cabañas de Mike. Fantastic location just out of town but with an amazing view over town and tucked into the surrounding forest. Mike was super welcoming and lovely to chat to. You must try his homemade cookies! Perfect simple kitchen set up, but he also runs a restaurant , with everything we tried being absolutely delicious. Super comfy beds and the cutest animals on the property too! Amazing value for money in San Juan 😊

Beaucoup d'escaliers pour se rendre, soyez prêts! incroyable vue une fois rendu en haut. Les draps de lits n'étaient pas changés la propeté laisse a désirer et pas beaucoup d'entretien quotidien. Il as fallu négocier à l'arrivée car Mike donnais un prix différent que celui affiché au moment de la réservation et insistait que c'est toujours comment il fonctionne. Il faut payer comptant. La cabane est très rustique et il y as juste une salle de bain. Chat sur place super adorable!

Hostel mit Baumhausfeeling - rustikal - steiler Zustieg mit vielen Treppen - etwas abgelegen am Hang - verschmuste Katze - viele verwinkelte Räume - Balkon mit Aussicht auf San Juan und die Indian Nose - Hängematte - tolle Gastgeberin Dalia (spricht nur Spanisch) - Nachtwächter etwas seltsam - alles in allem ein toller und entspannter Aufenthalt - wir haben uns wohl gefühlt

could do with doors for the bedrooms instead of just hanging fabric as it gets really cold at night & animals come into the room. 6 shared room doesn’t really fit 6. hike up the stairs with a backpack (especially in the dark with the neighbours dogs) can be very intimidating. very clean, offers food (eggs, veg, beers) at a very reasonable price & Dalia was super helpful in organising trips. definitely a glorified homestay rather than a hostel per se, but at that price, can’t complain

I stayed at Mikes place for 4 days and really enjoyed my stay. Mike, Dalia and the pets were very friendly. It’s a quiet and tranquil place ideal if you want to explore the lake from a secluded location :)
