Really lovely place to stay if you need a break from busy places. Staff are incredibly kind and welcoming and the rooms & bathroom/showers are great! Only thing I recommend is that you plan ahead for dinners - you have to reserve early online or you have a limited choice of food in the evening.
Wir haben uns so wohl gefühlt! So viele kleine liebevolle Details. Das begann schon in der Buchungsbestätigung. Und die Mitarbeiter:innen so zugewandt und freundlich. Ein wahnsinnig friedlicher Ort mit gutem Kakao. Ich möchte auf jeden Fall wiederkommen. Danke!
Very stunning location and loved that we could access the hot tub. However there weren’t any lockers in the dorm rooms and the top bunk didn’t have charging ports. Also I had a top bunk that was very claustrophobic, the beam in the ceiling was only one hands width above my head when lying down. The ceilings are slanted, so if my bunk faced the other direction it would have been more comfortable.
Kinloch is located in a beautiful area and the staff were very friendly. It was very disappointing that the hot tub was unavailable, sauna wasn’t ready, spa hot tub wasn’t clean and yurt was unavailable. We found the stay expensive considering the facility availability
Well worth the drive to get there. Stunning location by the River Dart. Cute but very small room. Only tea & coffee in the room, no fridge, but good big kommunal kitchen. Great restaurant with tempting menu ($$$) & outdoor seating under cover. Towels smelt of being dried too slowly. Sandflies! Internet mostly did not work which was a frustration.
Beautiful place and view especiallyat sunset. Nice atmosphere, clean and cozy, comfortable beds and plenty of cozy blankets :)
Inaccessible gravel path for 9km. Staff disagreed and did not pre warn us. Would not accept partial responsibility and charged an excessive transfer fee. Extortion at $120 but when collected and with no choice other than, as advised by the staff, to hitch. Location inaccurate. Not 4km or 2m from Glenorchy but but 26km by road. Inaccuracy favours the lodge. Very expensive bar. Limited and expensive restaurant. Spa pool had a nasty cloudy lemonade appearance. A very unpleasant experience
There are lots of bugs in this property. I got lots of bed bug bites here
Lovely chilled vibe and beautiful remote location! Lots of families and guests using the shared facilities, so less of a hostel vibe but I'd 100% stay again
Prachtige locatie. Geweldig uitzicht vanaf terras of vanuit de hottub. Wil je de Routeburn of Greenstone track gaan doen dan is is dit een uitstekend startpunt.
The perfect place to stay and relax. Enjoy amazing sunrises, swim in the lake, and warm up in the hot tub. Very friendly staff and delicious food. One of my favorite stays in NZ
Loved staying here!! Wish I could have stayed for a whole week Lovely staff and calming vibe Gorgeous communal kitchen/diner Saw the Southern Lights from the hot tub, will never forget!
lovely place to stay. well equipped kitchen and facilities. clean areas. rooms of 4 beds spacious enough. has been organised by people who care about their service :) would recommend and would come again!
What a beautiful view, clean room, well stocked kitchen, friendly staff, delicious breakfast
Bunk bed too close to ceiling, i hit my head a couple times... No security and staff not always around. I loved to showers!!!! Amazing Kitchen is also nice
Very disappointing stay. Staff was rude and unhelpful. Definitely overpriced for what it is. Would not recommend and will not be going back.
Excellent séjour dans cette endroit isolé et superbe. Le cadre est superbe, les lits confortables, l'endroit convivial
Very nice hostel that doesn't feel too much like a hostel. Quiet and lovely staff. Great place to stay before doing the Routeburn Track.
Once I reached Glenorchy, I was a bit surprised to know this place is 30 min away from Glenorchy and I had to drive 14km on an unsealed road. The location is secluded and the getaway is satisfying.
Don’t make the same mistake as me, it’s a 5+ hour walk from Glenorchy. I assumed it was close to Glenorchy, yes I know stupid, and was very lucky the person I hitchhiked with offered me to couch or would have been sleeping outside. So I didn’t stay and can’t comment on anything else but just be warned!
