The Penida Project

This place was the perfect solace on Nusa Penida! A perfect balance of getting away from the busier parts of the island whilst also being sociable and fun. Some of the activities weren’t running whilst I was there but was absolutely made up for by how lovely the staff and reps were! Although a little isolated from the town, you can easily get into town by taxi or renting a bike and the restaurant attached to the hostel is superb. Top spot in Nusa Penida!!! 🫶🏼🫶🏼

Best place to spend your mean time. And the people over there is so friendly and resourceful. You can ask any thing at anytime. You will get it.

Olaf is the man and super chill hostel great for relaxing with convenient car / motor taxi’s to sightsee around the island

This hostel is honestly such an oasis. If you’re even thinking about booking, just do it. From the moment you arrive, the staff and reps make you feel so welcome. A special mention to Olaf, who is an absolute gem. There’s also the sweetest dog, Tequila! The food is genuinely great, everything is kept super clean, the dorm beds are cozy and private, and there’s always a nice, easygoing crowd. Great location, short scooter ride anywhere, and they make organising tours super simple!

Very chill hostel, great facilities and the food was amazing! Staff were all so friendly and helpful especially Olaf who was so welcoming and funny!

I had the absolute best time at The Penida Project! It’s tucked away in a lush jungle setting which makes it feel like a real escape, but the community vibe is what makes it special. Absolutely fantastic hostel hidden away a bit in the beautiful Nusa Penida. Really lovely vibes and super friendly staff - free yoga and boxing classes were a plus! As well as their volunteers such as Olaf who was great too :) Will definitely stay here again when next on the island!

The staff are so lovely here but I really don’t enjoy my stay - the location for me is the main reason. You’re isolated and have to rely on very expensive taxis to get around. The taxis stop at 10 so you can’t stay out late. You can’t walk anywhere for coffee etc. Jungle, so bugs are expected but I did find there to be alot around especially dead on the floor. You have to walk down steps and across the pool area to go to the bathroom. Beds are comfy and staff are nice but wouldn’t stay...

From the moment u arrived from the harbor, the hostel already would offer to take care of arrivals, activities, bike rental etc. it’s located Just 15min from harbor! Everything is clean, safe and quiet/chill, island jungle vibes. Toilet, main area, swimming pool, they’re well maintained and clean. Super fijn hostel! Sociaal, elke avond leuke activiteiten en ze helpen je goed met vervoer en tours regelen. Goede keuken met lekker ontbijt, diner en drankjes en heel lief personeel en vrijwilligers (bedankt Nele!!)! Ook was het schoon, het zwembad heel chill en waren de kamers fijn.

Nice hostel!! I dont know if i like the dogs or volunteers more! Nele, Maria&Nadia are just doing a great job:) i felt really included since i arrived and i highly recommend staying there!

I had the best time at this hostel! It’s located in the jungle and had a great calm chilled feel during the week. By the weekend and full moons they throw big parties that everyone attends. It was super social and felt like a family by the time I left. Nele the rep was absolutely incredible - she really made my birthday so special with so many surprises over the day!! I’ve never had happy birthday sung to me so many times by everyone. Thank you so much Nele! You’re the best☺️

The staff were so lovely, friendly and helpful - when our air con broke, they rushed to fix it asap! Location is very isolated which can be peaceful (also lots of bugs and difficult to get around island without a bike). Not much going on in terms of social activities so a very quiet stay.
