Right next to railway, time to time can hear train cross by.
It was clean and nice enough with ensuite bathroom, but my bed curtains has weird stains all over it. The front desk doesn't accept cash, nor have a car reader for contactless pay (instead requiring all your card number details to make payments?). Most of all, the beds are terrible. They look great; the aesthetic certainly holds up. But it is a crinkly, wrinkled (and you can feel it), sinking mess. At one point I sat on it and sunk all the way to the bottom where I could feel the slats.
It was a great building. Decent location etc. but we couldn't open any windows!
Nice location, friendly staff, clean and comfortable facilities and furniture.Very recommendable. Greetings from Vigo, Spain:-)
It was fine, not too far from centre but the room was so so so hot, like unbearable I couldn’t sleep.
The hostel is a bit of walk from the city centre, but otherwise everything was fine. The cleanliness was ok, though it would be great if some basic toiletries for bathing were provided. At night, the walk back to the hostel felt a little dim and dark, as the area opposite seems to be under construction. Overall, it was an okay stay, but a few small improvements could make it much better.
I really liked it, the bathrooms need improvement and the kitchen is 56 steps up. Everything else was perfect.
it was fine? the lockers are in your bunk space and are quite small, I couldn't imaginimagine fitting anymore than my 45L pack and small day bag. little things that make the experience such as no hooks and lack of shelves (dorms and bathrooms, heavily ill-equipped kitchen, no plates even. the shower in room was cold water so used shared down the hall with only one stall, leaked all over floor. the lobby space is quite nice, but the rest is fine enough in a pinch
Have stayed 3 time now. While the location is great and the staff are so friendly and polite, facilities are very good and beds very comfortable only problem is no matter what time of day it is there is never any hot water.
Bathroom in room broken / out of order . There’s literally no sunlight in the room and even the lightbulb light was low on power . The shared bathroom door broken leaking not very nice
Uff… I felt Not good here. No good vibe, some areas are really dirty, no people talking to each other, and some strange people around. Kitchen smells really Bad, there is no window and rare Space for putting stufff. I can really Not recommend this place (neither this city in all). The only good thing was the curtains on bed. Inwas so glad when I left this place.
The beds were really good, but everything else was meh, would stay here if you are just there for a couple of days just to sleep. The kitchen was very lacking so don’t expect to be able to cook elaborate meals.
The hostel is almost like a symbol for the city - falling apart. Location is good, very close to the well connected train station, and i liked the cold water w/ lime they always have on disposal. Staff are friendly, but some could defo give more info at check-in and sightseeing spots. they had some very dodgy characters at the hostel, so i was very happy to have curtains at my bed. bathroom needed const. fixing and noone reported it but me. Kitchen was smelly and dirty, i couldn't eat there.....
the ONLY complaint i have is there were construction workers outside of the complex around 6:30a. This has nothing to do with the building itself which was beautiful. I stayed in the female only dorm and had no complaints with the facilities.
I booked a female dorm for 4 nights and somehow got in a mixed dorm. The staffmember who was working there that night was really understanding and made sure that I could change rooms. I could stay 2 nights in the female dorm, then 1 night in a mixed and 1 night in the female dorm again. sadly everytime I checked out of one room and later wanted to check in the next, my name was out of the system and had to explain the other staff my whole situation so they could get me in again...
We had a bit of trouble with this hostel, which I think stemmed from understaffing. We had booked a private room with shared bathroom, and during check-in were allocated into a 6 bed dorm room instead as they’d run out of privates. The staff at the front desk did their best to rectify the situation and found a private room for us on the second night, which we really appreciated. The cleanliness in the dorm room and private room was average. The location in Birmingham was good.
Clean. Safe. Modern. Would stay again. Only downside is the windows don't open in the private rooms and there is no AC when it's hot so you're literally just sitting in a hot box. Not sure if it's the same for the dorms though. otherwise would've given it a 10/10. Ask for a fan and they may give it to you
Booked a mixed dorm after a great experience at the other branch but it ended up being very humid with 0 air ventilation, staff changed my room to a female dorm immediately no further questions asked then it was good.
staff are absolutely brillaint and will definitely stay again . Staff were very accommodating. i forgot their names but all recpetion staff were nice. My only small criticism is the cleaning staff seemed a little stretched. also please change the beds to something harder
Everything was fairly clean, pretty close to town. Staff were friendly enough but bugger all atmosphere, not a social hostel by any means but would be aight for 1 night stay for buisness but not a place for backpackers.
