Bed Bugs. Under Construction. Not ready yet. Needs another year.

I would’ve loved to give it a higher rating, but what we got simply wasn’t what we asked for. DISCLAIMER, they’re still in the middle of renovations, so if you book the cheaper dorm, you won’t get that! They relocated the beds not even close to the main hostel, where you’ll be basically sleeping on mattresses on the floor… You won’t have wifi and the shower has very low water pressure. The staff was kind but if only they’d wrote that on their page…

AVOID AT ALL COST I booked a dormitory allegedly on the beach I ended up with a room under the hostel owner house, no WiFi, mattress on the floor, no water pressure and no drinking water. The sheets were stained and the room wasn’t clean at all They said the dormitory is under construction, this situation should stay until end of April 2026

I got scammed by the owner! On arrival I learned that the dorm was in renovation and I was relocated to an empty room 10min away with no wifi, no water and mats on the ground. The owner charged me the entire Hostelworld price even though the others in the room were charged 20$. The owner is wierd, mean and I would absolutely never recommend this hostel even if the dorm gets renovated. There are WAY BETTER hostels in El Zonte!

Great place! Right on the point between the 2 beeches. Access right to the water. Nice pool as well.

The worst bed bugs!!!! wholes in the celing with garbage bag to protect from rain, shower only 8 little jets working. Renovations early in the morning waking you up. No kitchen and no acces to a fridge. The location was great theres potential but it needs alot of work and love and mostly get rid of the bed bugs before you let anyone back in.

Je n’ai vraiment pas aimé mon expérience dans cet hostel. Le dortoir où j’étais censé dormir était en construction, sans que cela soit clairement indiqué à l’avance. J’ai donc dû traverser une petite partie de la rivière, puis marcher environ dix minutes pour atteindre une autre chambre. La chambre de remplacement était dans un état déplorable : les matelas étaient directement posés au sol, le ménage n’était clairement pas fait, il y avait un trou dans le plafond et j...

Great place, unbeatable location, wonderful people. Restaurants and bars nearby. On the beach so surfing and swimming right there. Really enjoyed the stay so much so we extended for a couple extra nights. Staff including Tim went out of their way to answer questions and make us feel welcome. Def want to go back 😀👍

The place is currently under Construction. At the moment (01/2026) I would only recommend the dorm to hardcore Surfers. Because the Location of this Hostel increíble. Directly in front of the pointbreak. ONCE the Construction is finished, this Hostel would earn a higher Rating. The manager Tim is a cool and welcoming person. If you have the budget for the private room, I can definitely recommend this place.

Clairement le meilleur emplacement de El Zonte. On peut y voir le levé et le couché du soleil à partir du même endroit, juste à tourner la tête. Personnel très courtois. Je recommande.

Best place to stay in El Zonte! The owner and the people working there are SO nice. It’s the only spot in town where you can watch both the sunset and the sunrise from the same hammock. I was there during their quiet season and they were doing a lot of renovation around the property, so the facilities will look even better soon! Definitely felt like a home away from home.

Great location, but that’s the only positive. Within the first day there were cockroaches everywhere, so I ended up leaving and getting a hotel. The bathroom was in rough shape—the toilet and shower barely worked—and overall the place was very dirty. The bedsheets had visible stains. I would not stay here again.

the garden, pool area, hang out areas are AMAZING. worth staying for those but the cleanliness of the bathrooms is shocking. I booked a 4-bed dorm, turned out to be a 2-bed open air attic (not an issue but advertise correctly. mosquito net unusable) Such a shame because the location is sickkkkkkkkk

Avoid staying here!! The place is dirty, rundown, and abandoned. They charge you more than the advertised price when you go to check in. Bathrooms are full of cockroaches and walls have holes in them. We had a rainstorm my second night here and the entire dorm flooded. It is a shame because the view is stunning. Avoid, avoid, avoid

Es un sueño poder vivir durante unos días en esa ubicación. Despertar justo en frente de 3 olas cada día no tiene precio. La piscina es espectacular, las habitaciones son limpias y Aldo es muy amigable y te dará los mejores consejos para surfear por la zona.

Ein absoluter Traum für alle, die Sonne, Meer und gute Stimmung lieben! Ich habe hier zwei Wochen verbracht und mich rundum wohlgefühlt. Die Zimmer sind top klimatisiert und die Terasse bietet einen atemberaubenden 180-Grad-Blick auf días Meer und den Ort. Das Personal ist unglaublich herzlich und sorgt jederzeit für eine entspannte Atmosphäre. Ein früherer Kommentar zu den Toiletten hatte zwar recht, allerdings ist das nur an diesem Tag gewesen, ansonsten immer sauber und absolut in Ordn...

- No filtered water - SO dirty: I did not feel like touching anything - NONE of the toilets working… I even asked the person there to fix it and tols me to use another one. But there was poop on all the toilets — Staff did not help and was confused - You have to pay for lockers - Someone in my dorm said the roof fell few days before during the night - Nice view but SO dirty ! - clogged showers - bathroom is super unwelcoming

pretty cool location with many chill spots and amazing views on the ocean and the surfers going at it. there are plenty of restaurants in the area for a reasonable price, the dorm was pretty good and the smoothies are nice as well.

Epic spot, family are so nice to the guests and very helpful. Highly recommend! ** if the owners read this could they let me know if they find a blue Columbia rain jacket I left there? Thanks 😅

Aldo and his family were amazing to us. The pool is overlooking the ocean and the sunset. They have a bar with reasonable pricing and a whole variety of drinks. We genuinely loved our stay there and would recommend to everyone. We stayed in the private bungalows and it overlooks the ocean. People come to this hostel around sunset time to watch the surf and look at the sunset. They have hammocks all over the property and is such a good relaxing spot. Lots of local restaurants nearby too!
