One of my best hostels stays I had in my life. Location is very good and safe. But the best is the staff. Super friendly and always helping, creating a wonderful atmosphere. Highly recommended!
Overall good experience. I just feel as french black men there’s still a lot of work to do with the staff regarding unconscious bias
Great hostel! Especially Zoë who takes the best care of her guests ^^
Location and showers are quite good. Rooms are very small and kitchen is not great. Reasonable for the price you pay. Not a social hostel.
Some stuff are so unprofessional and so damn rude, I was mistreated by one of their employee he was rude to me and I reported the matter but I never got a feedback from them. The only response from them was: (what's the name of the guy) on Monday. How can i know the name of someone who doesn't have name tags cause they don't wear name tags. I don't know which one is the manager there, so don't know where to report the matter to so I decided to write an email to them. They don't show the cl...
Good experience all round. I would prefer if they don't let locals into the backpackers for braai day.
Great location and a lovely buidling. The safes in my room were not working, but the there was a good vibe of respect. Staff was lovely and they were cleaning daily. Not too many hostel-ran activities of that is your thing. Overall, I felt safe as a solo female traveller and I would be happy to go back again.
I can’t fault anything about Ashanti. The staff were amazing at helping us, the rooms felt safe and comfortable, the breakfast was delicious. We felt so at home there and even chose to stay there again when we went back to Cape Town. As well as this, the building was so pretty! The bottom bunks had curtains but the top bunks lacked but we didn’t find that to be an issue really as everyone was lovely. Defo recommend.
a bit more attention needs to go into their maintanence and hygene of their facilities but other than tht, a really good place to stay.
This is the best hostel I’ve stayed in Cape Town so far. Centrally located, very clean, friendly staff and people.
You are not going to get a better hostel in the area. it's got views of table mountain, clean swimming pool, pool table and bar. It's not a party hostel, but you can easily get somewhere to do that. All the staff are great, and very friendly! Always people playing pool and just lounging around which is perfect. Thankyou Ashanti team 🤙
Lots of parking on the street. Very good location. Bathrooms were nice but the rooms weren’t that great. Were hot even though it was cool out. Useless shades and the bed moved around a lot. Didn’t see many people, not the best vibes.
New showers, daily cleansing neae to Kloof Streer
Great location, cool place, nice people.
Ashanti Lodge is a great hostel in a fabulous city. It’s in a great location very close to Kloof Street with supermarkets, bars, coffee shops & restaurants. It’s also a decent but longish walk to the V&A Waterfront. The staff are very helpful with finding tours, and the facilities are good & clean. The bar serves breakfast and has food available in the evenings. There’s a kitchen area too.
Awesome awesome backpacker and staff!
was a great stay! would stay again, like a massive mansion transformed into a hostel haha, it even has a bar. unfortunately it wwas dead when i was there.
Lovely hostel, social vibes, and friendly staff
