Big Blue Backpackers

Great location.

Leider hat uns das Hostel gar nicht überzeugt. Die Zimmer waren okay und an sich sauber, allerdings war der Vibe und die Atmosphäre komisch. Die anderen Gäste waren eher älter und es gab nicht den typischen jungen Hostel/Backpacker Vibe. Pluspunkt: Die Mitarbeiter waren sehr bemüht und haben es ermöglicht uns ein Zimmer mit eigenem Bad zu geben!

I am surprised with all these weird people that give low star reviews for this place. Even though comfort value for money etc are subjective nothing at big blue warrants some low ratings....

The room was not at all like those in the pictures. The room I was given was behind the pool with a door that didn’t lock. Additionally, the room had thin insulation and relied on a space heater that was minimally effective. The washroom and shower was not clean and ultimately didn’t feel like a safe place so I ended up having to find another hotel for the night.

It was a cozy vibe,clean but not social. its a place u go when u want to be lowkey, security is good and the blonde lady in reception is a sweety pie!

Staff was really helpful

It’s probably perfect for long stayers that need connection and actually live there. For us it was good for one night. But I don’t like dogs and I like hot water in the shower where there was none. The employee was cute and very helpful with a heater, cause it got kind of chilly.

Overall we enjoyed our stay. The building looks grungy and could use a paint job and some updating, but our room was clean! Monray was very friendly and helpful. We enjoyed the coffee shop just down the hill - they have great breakfast options. There are also many delicious restaurants down the road within walking distance. The lodge is located close to the waterfront, where we spent a good amount of time as the hub of our activities. The atmosphere was calm - we barely heard any other guests.

I was late for the check in, and although the people were still there and awake they would not let me enter the property to stand behind the gate while they sorted out the issue ( or not). They made me stand outside the gate while there were drunkards wandering the street and I explicitly told them that I felt scared and would appreciate just waiting inside while we tried to see if I could still check in for the night. They said no after I explained twice, so left for my own safety.

Infrastructure’s appeared old and must be improved, included rooms, kitchen and bathrooms.

Not even plastic cups available, bedding old, only one blanket provided

Excelente lugar para pasar unos días en Cape Town, totalmente recomendable, todo 10 puntos.

This hostel was fine, had a pool and large kitchen you can use. The location was decent in green point and felt like it was a safe area. The hostel seems to have many south africans that live there on a more permanent basis.

חוויה מאוד לא טובה. רועש מאוד מאוד, ולא בקטע טוב. החדר לא היה נקי, מצעים עם קרעים. אין קליטת וואי פאי בחלק מהחדרים וכמו כן ללא שקע טעינה התעוררתי ב7 בבוקר מרעש של קדיחות כמו של אתר בנייה לא מומלץ.
