This is by far the worst hostel I have stayed at in Guatemala. The staff are outright hostile to people staying in dorms and to non-Israeli (because this is mainly a hotel run by Israelis). If you ask for anything in particular, they'll ask you to leave, even if it's in the middle of the night. The showers are a hole in a wall with little water pressure. They give you earplugs when you check in because the property is on a busy street. But no earplugs can tone out the amount of noise.
First hostel to ever give me complementary ear plugs at night! Very kind, very necessary. All hostels should do this haha. Overall I like the place, and all of the third spaces that one could sit and relax. The kitchen was kinda sad though, made cooking a little hard with lack of utensils and appliances but it’s good for a couple of days. I would stay again.
Fine hostel. No curtains or lockers in the room. Bathrooms had quite a bit of ants.
Bruyant, mais généralement super hostel avec vue incroyable
I stayed 2 nights in 6 bed mixed dorm. Overall the hostel has an amazing location, is clean, you can refill your water for free & the kitchen has an amazing view! The basics were just missing: no curtains, no locks on the door to the room, no lockers, only the option to rent a small locker for a deposit (couldn’t fit my iPad in). Also the one guy from the reception was a little bit rude & always flirting, which made me feel from time to time uncomfortable.
Good value for money, but located facing the bar stress, leaving the property exposed for noice in the evening
Nice hostel, but it’s very loud until 11pm. Otherwise it has incredible views of the lake and is generally a nice place to stay
It’s great price and location. There are no curtains on the beds and for those on the top bunk the guard rail would fall off if you touched it. The staff were kind and after 10 the bars closed and it was pretty quiet.
Nice hostel overall, cool graffiti, decent kitchen. Cash only which is super inconvenient in a town where atm runs out of cash around 8 pm ahah no privacy curtains in the bunks and very loud from the street every morning around 7 am. Ok bathrooms and showers, Nothing fancy but not bad for a short stay.
It’s a bed that’s about it. If you’re looking for a last minute place, it’s not bad, just no social environment unless you get lucky with ur roommates. No complaints at all, just a super mediocre place.
It’s in front of the night bar Sublime, so if you are a light sleeper don’t book this place. But I can sleep through any sound, so I was just fine. More central you can not get! Staff had some nice tips! Don’t miss out the rooftop terrace at this hostel.
Hostel with a really nice rooftop. The rooms are fine, but everyone can enter the property and the rooms as they please. There were people having sex in the bed above me. I feel if there was a concierge or someone to check to make sure people outside of the hostel don't come after 23h in this wouldn't have happened. They also only wash the linnen, but not the plaid on top, so not hygienical.
There was black mold above my bed on the ceiling.
Could be the loudest hostel I’ve ever stayed in. Always a worry when reception hands you ear plugs when you check in. No events so not very social. Rooftop is pretty though
Planned to stay one night, ended up staying 4. Orel the owner is the most helpful person, the hostel is quiet and relaxing yet very social, facilities are very good and the rooms didn’t miss anything. Location is amazing with great restaurants and travel agencies very close to the hostel and an amazing terrace with a stunning lake view. Would definitely recommend!!!
If it wasn’t for the horrendous music playing until 1am I’d give it a better score. Be prepared to lose some sleep. Place was largely ok. The 2 roof terraces save it to be honest. Reception is tucked away in the corner, which is strange as I can’t see how they know who is walking in and out. Staff were very helpful. Good communication.
Hammer Rooftop!
Très bon établissement, avec un super tour pour l'Acatenango.
