Lovely hostel and lovely staff, the guy running it gave us a great off season discount for extending our private room, great location! Would book again if coming to Osaka.
It was overly basic. Not modern at all, but a place to crash if needed.
outdated, basic, ok clean wise.. but no key for female dorms.. no thick blanket was provided and a thin sheets and my bed was right but open window that was covered a/c.. So i had sleep with my clothes on because it was so cold. No elevator only stairs which fine.. Kitchen only for staff. This place okay for one night.
Comfortable bed but very clinical room. No blinds/curtains so you wake up with the sun. Clean but showers are in the basement and you have to walk past the restaurant area with all your shower things. Towels were not provided with a private room. Multiple toilets on our floor but only one with proper sink facilities/mirror. Very minimal explanation from the staff checking us in, who was not very welcoming. Ok stay but glad we were only there one night. Very expensive for what it was.
This was a clean and cozy place to stay with a short walk to metro stations. A full breakfast set is available for only ¥500. Dinner is also available with cuisine of Myanmar. The hosts were friendly and went above and beyond to help us solve a problem (we had walking sticks from Fuji we wanted to have cut to fit in our baggage). Would absolutely stay again.
There was much about Osaka Guesthouse that I enjoyed, but I didn't feel overly comfortable here. There was no obvious place for baggage to go (and no way to secure it). Inconveniently placed showers (in the basement), toilets with no soap, and a rather bland, cosmetic feeling dorm space on the top floor (no elevator). The staff were friendly enough, but it felt slightly like I was intruding on someone else's home. I made it through workably, but I personally wouldn't stay here again.
A locker would be great and some beds in the mixed bedroom has no Space to put the backpack
The friendliest staff in Osaka. Great food and had a great time, will have to come here again!
The hostel is way too outdated and old, despite getting a private room for a decent price. The place needs a refresh. It’s not bad if all you need is the bare minimum and a place to sleep
C'était agréable de pouvoir avoir sa piece à soit. Les salles de bains sont un peu loin, mais spacieuses. Un peu trop de règles n'ouvrant pas à la convivialité, mais c'était ok pour mon style de séjour.
Very sweet and kind hostess.
Terrible experience. Book elsewhere! There are no keys/cards/codes provided for your room and the main door was left open overnight so anyone can walk in off the street into your room. The owner was rude and unhelpful when I raised my concerns
Everything was great. Friendly staff. If you walk a few minutes you find good restaurants such as ramen, curry, udon, bbq, yakitori and so many options. Definitely coming back!
Not my favorite stay, the bed was very uncomfortable and doesn’t stay flat on the bed so part of the mattress on either end was curling upwards. Appreciate the curtain on the bed but they didn’t look very clean and the room was a bit hot at night with the thick curtain. Really narrow space between the bed across from you- the room is filled with bunk beds to maximize the number of people staying there, which I understand, but if the room had been full it would have been pretty uncomfortable ...
There was an issue with our check in (our room was occupied by someone else). The owner did an awesome job quickly relocating us to a clean room and even upgraded to a bigger room! The AC worked great, which was a big plus for the humidity of July. The only issues at this location was lack of cooking facilities (the kitchen was unavailable to guests) and the fridge was quite small. The location is quite a walk from the nearest metro and no elevator, so definitely not for anyone with luggage.
This was a cute hostel. Super small but very clean. It is a shame you cannot leave your bags, as this meant we had to leave for Kyoto earlier than ideally we would have.
beds were nice, one staff member was a bit hostile.
honestly not bad for the price. there is no lift for four floors and not much atmosphere, but the place is clean and staff is nice. not bad location either. overall good value if you need a bed
Honestly pretty bad. No people to be social with, the bed was very small and I kept bumping my head into the bed on top of me. Note that I’m only 1.64m. It was not very clean and hard to distinguish whether it was more a restaurant or hostel.
Does not have an elevator but has 4 floors!! Furthermore, the shower room is located in the basement. Staff was nice; the place was clean; and the atmosphere was great. However, I did not like that the toilet and shower rooms were on different floors from my bedroom. I would stay somewhere else next time.
