A nice, clean, friendly hostel with good facilities, near the centre. You can come and go as you please, with the same code for the front door as the bedroom door. The hosts are helpful with local information. My single mattress was not very comfortable but I would definitely go back.
I liked the place. First it was difficult to find, because the route from the bus station was not easy because of the building project of the hospital.
No real complaints, access was easy, the room warm and breakfast was OK. It's difficult to compare as costs in Iceland are much higher than Europe. For the cost I would of expected something better. The building is tired, location good for walking into the city centre and near local bus stops.
Lovely place to stay, staff were amazing and helpful throughout. Toilets were small but always clean and fully stocked with soap/toilet paper. Rooms were clean however definitely needed some new sheets as they had holes in/didn’t close properly, but I really didn’t find this to be an issue. Only ten minutes from Hallgrimskirkja but no shops nearer than a ten minute walk away, again a non-issue just make sure you buy any food you want while you’re still out if you don’t want to do the wal...
A perfect place to stay in Reykjavik for travelers. Staff was super friendly and responsive to questions. No issues with booking, checkin, or parking. the rooms were clean and spacious. there were multiple toilets and one shower. shower was clean and well maintained, with plenty of space to hang or set down clothes and toiletries. towels and bedding were provided and they were clean
My wife and I had a delightful stay here for four days. It's only about a 10-15 min walk to Hallgrimskirkja and the center of town, and it's situated in a quieter corner away from more raucous hostels and nightlife. Ingi the caretaker was such a gem and gave us great advice on hikes and sights more off the beaten path, and the facilities had all of the basics we'd need. Our room with double bed was always warm and cozy. A few bits and bobs to fix like a faulty toilet, etc. but overall great!
Had a great stay at Igdlo in January! Hostel owners and workers were super kind and helpful, very nice to have a chat with. Made a good friend, cooked some good meals, nice room (with a sink in it too), overall very cozy vibe. Good location, not far from both bus terminals. Would definitely stay here again next time in Reykjavik! Takk takk :)
Maravilloso…..!!!!!!!
Relacion calidad precio mejorable.
Nice place, spacious for Iceland. Good price and location, would definitely recommend for bigger groups.
0ptimale Lage, komfortables In- und Auschecken, sehr sauber, alles vorhanden, was man braucht. Auch Selbstversorgung möglich. Freundliche, helle Zi
Pleasant stay, very clean and nice staff.
Basic and comfortable, very quiet and quaint, so not much hostel atmosphere if that's what you're after. It's a very cute little B&B style place to sleep for the night after a day of exploring. The downside is that it's at the bottom of a hill that you have to walk up to get to the main part of town, so not the best for those with walking difficulties or struggle with their fitness/stamina. So be prepared for that!
This place was perfect for me :) I stayed here two nights after booking some extra tours last minuet and pushing my flights back. The room was simple and perfect not to mention clean. Bathroom on the basement level or 1st floor is what I think they called it was flawless :) There coffee/ espresso machine was a lifesaver in the mornings. I was on foot without a rental car so this hostel being located 6 walking minuets away from downtown and the BSI bus terminal was perfect. 10/10
Friendly, helpful staff, clean bathrooms. Room was very nice and provided towels for a private double room. Location was in easy walking distance of downtown. Parking was a little sketchy given all the snow, just be aware that if you're uncomfortable street parking in snow that you will have to do that here. Will absolutely stay here again if I'm back in Iceland again.
Loved our stay at Idglo. They accommodated our 5 AM arrival with a secure self check in. The staff were warm and helpful. The place is simple but has everything you need such as access to kitchen and laundry.
Igdlo Guesthouse was an incredible place to be my home base for my time in Iceland. I was in the annex building down the block from the main hostel; which had private rooms (with locking door and cabinets), a shared kitchen, and shared bathroom. 1-2 minute walk to the main building where they offer coffee and tea, food ingredients that other travelers have left behind, and a great social area to meet other people staying there. There is ample street parking in the blocks backing the buildings.
We really enjoyed our stay at Igdlo hostel, it has a very friendly and homey atmosphere. Rooms were clean and beds were comfy. Their keyless door lock system was very convenient as there was 9 of us. I can’t emphasise enough how nice was the kitchen. It was always clean and very practical. Staying in this hostel was a great experience and we’ll come back for sure.
A nice, even if small, room in a very clean and cozy guest house. Ideal for short term permanence. Limited space can be a drawback for longer permanence.
