Guesthouse Egilsborg

It was my first time staying at a guesthouse after staying in hostels. This one I thought would be much better than hostels but the environment wasn’t as great as the photos. I thought the BYOB of bringing your own sleeping bag was weird. When I first arrived, the owner was not there and I had to wait for a bit before she came. Then, I was told to purchase a rental car and it seemed like she was trying to sell it to me frequently. Anyways, it was good for 2 night stay.

The manager is an absolutely darling. I havent seen someone so hard working in a long time and she does an absolutely amazing job. Such good vibes from her. Really a treasure.

Read the fine print before booking this location. Linens and pillows are an extra charge, and paying with credit card onsite will also have a surcharge.This is all listed in the notes so that's that, but what got me was that the quiet time was set at 10pm, but the owner of the guesthouse was still outside using the common area, and we were able to hear it from our room. it felt more like we were guest in her home than a hostel. id say for the same price or cheaper you could get a better place.

Ok, so the rooms are small dorm style rooms and the showers and WC are shared but, that said, it was awesome. Breakfast was substantial and the staff were great, it's right near the falls and the price was great
