Hostel & Guest House Bistrik

Emir is the kindest, most accommodating host you could ever ask for. Such a nice guy. As for the room, I thought it was just a room but it turned out to be a whole apartment with a lot of old-fashioned charm. Very cosy. The only downside is the steep climb to the house. But if you want a place only 10 minutes away from the hustle and bustle of the city centre (and a chance to work on your cardio) then this is the perfect place to relax and unwind - at a very good rate as well.

Absolutely fantastic stay at Hostel & Guest House Bistrik. I stayed in the double ensuite room with my mum and felt very comfortable and safe. Emir was a wonderful host who went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable. Many many thanks

one of the nicest owners i met, it’s not really a hostel tho, so if you’re looking for a place to meet people this isn’t it. but super friendly and nice guy, very relaxed. the downside tho is the location, it’s super uphill like im pretty fit and it was a challenge for me. but very spacious i had a private room and had my own sofa as well plus balcony and a kitchen and bed and bathroom. i didn’t sleep the best tho because there was a dog next door barking like crazy during the night.

We stayed here one night. The host was very kind and informative about the area. He shuttled us to the airport for our flight home and I got sick, so he pulled over and comforted me. I will be forever grateful for his kindness and I highly recommend this hostel!!

Very quaint facility, I was in a 4-bed room, but I had that to myself; very nice place and close to town. My issue was that I had a vehicle and the drive was a bit hectic. That, however, was my fault, and there was parking available. The hostel is about a 10 min walk down to the old town.

really kind and open minded owner who welcomes you and gives you all the tips you need for sarajevo. rooms&kitchen are simple but totally fine and you have everything you need. i would stay here again! :)

This place is great. Like staying at your European grandma's place. Come here for Emir. He is the nicest guy you'll meet.

It is perfect for travellers who prefer quiet places to rest. The host, Mr. Emir, was very helpful and friendly. He even offered and gave us a bigger room better fit for our needs since it was available as well. The place is clean, comfy and 10 mins of walking away from city centre. There are little city guide books in the room and Mr. Emir briefly showed us the places to visit from the map when we checked in, which was an advantage. I had a great stay at House Bistrik. Emir is a very kind host, he was very welcoming, flexible (when I arrived later than expected) and simply great to talk to. We have discussed everything, from cross-country skiing to the Bosnian history and world politics :) Hvala! The rooms are on the first floor of the family house. Host was super nice and the room was spacious, very cute, and cozy! Location was great and we could easily walk to everything we wanted to see. Only downside is that there is a very steep hill up to the house but it’s not for very long.

Great place, very pleasant hosts!

I booked the single bedroom with a shared bathroom and discovered I got my own apartment. Emir was so helpful and kind! He allowed me to check in early in the morning and put my stuff down and sleep, which was a life saver after a night bus. He also gave me a ride to the airport at the end of my stay. Lovely place in a beautiful area right near the old town.

The host is friendly and nice. Great location. The room is clean and tidy. Definitely worth the price.

The host is really nice, the location is beautiful, the area is very nice. But, I must say the hallway (not our room) smelled strongly of cat pee, because the owner had his new cats in there before we came. The upper floor, where my friends stayed, were perfectly clean so I hope this was an exemption and he will take care of it. Besides this, thank you for the nice stay thought!

Thank you so much for my lovely stay! This is a lovely peaceful place a little way up the hill where i could relax in a beautifully decorated room between exploring. The owner was incredibly helpful and friendly.
