Youth Hostel Plakias

This place is the best. The beaches near by are gorgeous and the hostel itself is peaceful. Super chill and welcoming vibe with lovely staff members and guests. Felt like a home away from home! Will be recommending to everyone ⭐️⭐️⭐️

I stayed for a month on Crete and this hostel is the reason, I will come back! It is a place for community with great conversations and amazing people. Nick has made me feel welcomed from the start and had been available for any inquiries during my stay. I slept in the female dorm, which was clean, quiet and had a private shower to it, too. There are beautiful beaches close to the hostel as well as supermarkets, tavernas and it is a great starting point for exploring the island. See you soon!

Wonderful hostel, so well designed A perfect space to meet people, relax and feel safe I recommend it to everyone I meet in Crete since I leaved Plakias !

Amazing People, food , location

A very unique hostel nestled within walking distance of Plakais and all the beatifuk bays nearby. Has a very very nice outdoors area to hang out in and a very communal vibe, shared meals and stories across numerous generations. The hostel seems to have quite the following of regular returnees, but regardless we felt very welcome. Only suggestion would be to replace the bed privacy curtains, the current ones do very little to block out the light from reading lights etc.

Absolut schön gelegen unter Olivenbäumen. Ein Traum zum Abschalten, aber auch mit gleichgesinnten, offenen, interessanten Leuten zusammen zu kochen, Abenteuer zu erleben und zu feiern. Fühlt sich an wie Familie, von jung bis alt und 2 Katzen ist alles da. Kann auch gut Sport machen im offenen Gym, Yoga unter den Bäumen oder Volleyball am Abend von Nick organisiert, der das Hostel managet. Wie der Besitzer, ist er zuvorkommend und nett, hat immer ein offenes Ohr. Danke für die tolle Zeit!

Had such a wonderful stay. Away from big crowds, close to beautiful beaches, real community feeling at the hostel. So peaceful!! Cant wait to come again.

I loved the stay in Plakias and the hostel! - it’s such a lovely place with a community mixed by people who come back every year and people who are there for the first time! - It’s a comfy and calming place. you’ll definitely have an awesome time there!

I only had one night here, but I can already tell this is an amazing hostel. The manager was welcoming and the common areas had a peaceful, relaxed vibe. The natural environment is the real highlight. Plakias is a picturesque town and the surrounding area is beautiful for exploring. I loved the early morning walk to the Old Mill before checking out and wish I had more time. I will definitely have to return!

The reviews are all true, this hostel is really fantastic in all aspects. The staff, facilities and location are all top. Travelers are a sociable mix of interesting people from around the world. Very easy to meet others especially for solo travelers. One of the best overall hostels I’ve ever stayed at and would definitely return!

Very nice place, secluded gem in peacefull environment

This is my second year visiting this wonderful hostel. This place is so much more than just a place to stay, it’s a community. Nick is a great manager, he cultivates a friendly and welcoming environment. Looking forward to staying again!
