Hostel WohnZimmer-Essen

One of the best hostel experiences I’ve had. Note,there are several flights of very steep stairs. This is not a location that is easily accessed by the elderly or the disabled.

The check out was a problem as the reception was closed before 11, even though website said it wud be open. Rooms were clean n ok.

Location is 30min walk trough very bad neighbourhood! Hostel faccilities are in very bad shape and should be replaced, no curtain for privacy, very bad small light for reading in bed and no curtains in windows so the streat light shines in your face the whole knight. Would not recommemd, even for this price! I will say the owner is very friendly.

Bathrooms were really nice like a house that was renovated rooms were good with lockers and the mattresses were comfortable. The free breakfast was nothing but toast you had to pay for everything else. Staff weren’t great got yelled at for having a phone call in the hallway

It’s beautiful good bed and kitchen. There is a nice garden and you have many options for restaurants and public transport also

WohnZimmer-Essen was a fine place to stay. The breakfast upgrade options not entirely clear and the kitchen and bathroom facilities seemed cobbled together but all in all I would stay again.

nice place if you can't book anything in Cologne or Dusseldorf.

I stayed for 2 nights in the female only dorm and it was pretty decent. But the bathrooms could have been cleanier. There are 2 supermarkets nearby which was great.

Decent for the price

It was okay. There was nothing wrong with it. It was clean, the kitchen was good with lots of amenities and the bathrooms well maintained. The beds did not have curtains which is very bad. Every hostel should have curtains on their beds. The mattress however, was more comfortable than my own at home, that makes up for the lack of curtains.

I liked this hostel, although it is located on a busy street. Friendly reception , super clean rooms and bath rooms. Ask for a room with curtains at the bink beds. There is also a small cosy outside court yard. Basic breakfast is included in the price ( coffee costs extra) and I recommend the upgrade for only 3 € extra charge. I will certainly return to this place.

Meiner Meinung nach ist die leitende Person sehr unhöflich und nicht hilfsbereit. Meiner Meinung nach sollte man meinen, dass bei der Möglichkeit einer kostenlosen Stornierung und des Ausführens dieser, man das Geld zurück bekommen sollte, dem ist wohl nicht so. Meiner Meinung nach sollte eine Kreditkartenzahlen, die ersichtlich abgebucht wurde, auch zurückgezahlt werden, im o. g. Fall und nicht behauptet werden, dass diese Buchung nie stattfand. Ich empfehle dieses Hostel keinesfalls!

Schön eingerichtet, nettes Personal, Riesen Küche, Riesen Bad

inkompetent und respektlos. haben ungefragt meine sachen zusammen gepackt, da sie mir nicht kommuniziert haben oder mich rechtzeitig angerufen haben für einen Zimmerwechsel wegen Doppelbelegung. keine entschädigung und sich auch von selbst keiner schuld bewusst. auch fragwürdige perverse werden trotz rückmeldung nicht entfernt. sauberkeit mangelhaft. ausstattung peinlich.

I have paid 24 euro booking fee twice and the hostel was booked out, but i was still able to book it on your website. I would like to request the money to be sent back, as I never got a confirmation email, with my booking, as well as I had to cancel my booking at the hostel because everything was booked out. Please make sure you fix this problem, and send the money back to the account.

Staying here wasn’t my favorite, but good for Essen.
