This hostel seemed like it could be a nice place to stay for a while with a lot of activities and a pool, kitchen, bar, and some exercise equipment. But the staff wasn't communicative (with me or with each other), the kitchen was nice but the many people using it didn't automatically clean-up after themselves, and it was very difficult to get to or leave—take into consideration for food or flights if not driving. The worst, really, was feeling slighted & confused by the staff...
We were refused at the desk, as the hostel appears to be an ADULT ONLY hostel, which is not clearly stated in the booking title or elsewhere. WE BOOKED 18 NIGHTS AND WE DID NOT GET OUR MONEY BACK.
Our stay at Tree House Hostel, El Médano was one of the worst accommodation experiences we’ve had. We checked in at approximately 1:30 AM. Almost immediately, we witnessed a drunk male guest harassing two female guests in the shared kitchen, using offensive, aggressive, and inappropriate language. This happened openly in a common area. No guest should be exposed to this, especially late at night. My girlfriend felt genuinely unsafe. While the staff member on duty attempted to reassure her, ...
Very nice staff. Beds and mattresses are good. I enjoyed my stay a lot.
This hostel was absolutely dirty and we did not feel secure as females. There were so many flies everywhere, the kitchen was DISGUSTING, the locks were broken, everyone could get into the hostel as they did not even lock at night. The whole crew is based on volunteers who were very unmotivated. The girl at the reception was rude and there was no welcoming vibe at all. we felt like we were disturbing her vacation 😂 The only positive was the shuttle driver and the views
Amazing hidden gem in Tenerife. The location is quite isolated but the people and facilities make up for that. Recommended to have a car when you’re staying here but there is also a free shuttle multiple times a day to multiple locations. The hostel is perfect for remote working with many nice places to sit, Wi-fi everywhere (does takes some figuring out which is the best every time as there are multiple networks) offices and a private office you can book. Had an amazing time there!
Comfortable bed Good outside space Good showers Poor hygiene in kitchen (many flies)
Nice hostel but a little bit far off. If you don’t have a car it may be better to stay somewhere else. As for me I think this is a social hostel but I didn’t vibed with the people there, a lot of them working there. Not a well known backpacking place. They have social events in the evening.
It was a great hostel - super chill, very spacious, nice pool, and plenty of parking. There was a really weird guy staying in my room that was creeping the ladies out and had no filter, but other than that no issues. lol. Security was limited to a basic cubby with a so-so latch that you can put a pad lock on. But no issues. The only thing that was underwhelming was the bathrooms - super small, drain cover was removed and the toilet was so cramped - but there was plenty of hot water!
The least secure hostel I have ever stayed in. I booked a 6 bed female dorm and when I asked for the door key upon check in, the girl at reception looked at me like I was stupid. There was no lock, someone came into the room at 4am left with the door to the room open, came back half an hour later and slept in a spare bed, she was gone before 11am. She had no luggage or anything, doesn’t give me a warm and fuzzy feeling. Booked an Airbnb the next day and got out of there.
If you’re in Tenerife and your looking for a cool spot to stay, then trust me, Treehouse is the one! I felt welcomed, I loved the space and the vibe was great, plus, I left with new friends and a load of very very fond memories, I couldn’t recommend it more to be honest, I’ll be back :)
The place has a lot of potential but they kitchen was full with flies and quite dirty. Same with the rooms, the bathroom in the female dorm was disgusting, especially the shower curtain . I got a lot of pimples during my stay, which I usually don’t have.
Really nice place!!
I was very pleased, considering that it is a hostel, had a great fun, met new people, spacious shares/common area. Highly recommended.
Loved it!
Friendly, funky hostel in great location near airport. Lovely well-maintained pool area and mini bar area. Very nice optional breakfast. Lots of thoughtful things like outdoor gym and well equipped kitchen. A walkable distance from the centre of El Medano down a pista. Communication easy via WhatsApp and staff very helpful and nice. Would stay again.
The property is lovely! If you want ocean views, mixed with being secluded and away from tourists- this is the place! Facilities are amazing for remote workers and travelers alike. (I was remote working). The hostel coordinates many activities as well as having a free daily shuttle. The rooms feel secure and new as well. I will stay anytime I’m back in Tenerife!
