City Youth Hostel Dusseldorf

Great location!

Rooms are clean, en-suite bathroom and shower. Feels like a hotel-hostel. Included breakfast with a big spread is awesome! Hostel caters to youth, including school trips, so expect kids around. Overall it’s high quality, clean, would love to stay again.

I stayed in room 221. Carpets need urgent cleaning because the room smelled dirty feet. the smell was more like my army dormitory. Other than that, everything was better than i needed.

Good location, staff and cleanliness. However, the room lacks well-located sockets. You don't have an individual socket for your bed. The mattress is also not very good, as it is very thin. There is some noise from the street and if it's summer you need to leave the window open, which will make it uncomfortable for you to sleep. I think for the price paid, it could be better. But it's not a bad option, you just need to be aware of these details.

After having my flight delayed, the staff was very open to work towards a solution!

While the staff were extremely nice, I wouldn’t label this as a ‘modern youth hostel’ While there are plug points in the bathroom, there’s only one plug in the actual room and it’s not near any of the beds. In terms of safety, it’s less than ideal. Anyone can get into the building and into the corridors because no key is needed. Most guests I saw were families with young kids, what looked to be a kids birthday party, a middle school field trip, and a high school field trip. Wouldn’...

This is not a good hostel. To start, there were no outlets by the beds! That seems like a pretty major oversight for a hostel in 2023. There was no wifi in the rooms and even in the common areas it wasn’t very strong and kicks you off after an hour. It calls itself a “youth” hostel but most of the people there were families with small children and older travelers. Internet only available in certain communal areas (not in rooms), only 2 outlets for charging things in a 4 bed room none located near beds. Not a youth hostel at all, had heaps of families, a lot of kids yelling, business people, older people, kids on school trips. Had a cleaner knocking on the door at 9:57 telling us to leave. Non-negotiable fee to join a club with partnered hostels was sprung on me upon arrival, regardless of not wanting it. The vibes were dead, wouldn't recc for under 30s

It was a very good stay ,we were so happy to discover Düsseldorf,and We will come back soon.

Great Place, love the lockers that were available in the private room. Also the breakfast was so great.
