Panela Hostel

Absolute worst hostel I’ve stayed in…nothing good about it. The staff is rude , the showers are cold and flooded. No toilet paper. The rooms are tiny and get hot. The worst part is if the hostel doesn’t fill up with tourist they let homeless people sleep in the dorms. They let one man in our dorm who smelled absolutely horrible. The smell was so bad, my clean laundry in my bag turned foul. Only a matter of time before Hostelworld picks up on this and removes them from the platform.

Das Hostel war leider sehr dreckig und das Personal leider sehr unfreundlich. Die Lage ist gut um abends Bars und Restaurants zu besuchen. Leider habe ich meinen Schmuck im Hostel vergessen und gehe davon aus, das eine Person vom Personal es genommen hat, da ich ca. eine Stunde nachdem es mir aufgefallen war, das Hostel kontaktiert habe und darauf hin eine Nachricht enthalten habe, dass sie danach schauen werden und dann wurde ich blockiert und konnte das Hostel nicht mehr erreichen.

Buena atención y buen ambiente de las personas, buena ubicación. Puede mejorar el aspecto físico, se ve dejado, falta de cuidado, paredes con huecos y decoración caída, sucio y desordenado en zonas comunes, faltan arreglos en puertas de baños compartidos

No issues with this place, spacious private room and nice community here. Slightly funky smell nearby the toilets but for this price I can’t complain.

Sehr dreckiges Hostel und unfreundliches Personal. Es gibt überhaupt keine Lärmisolierung. Ich hatte ein Privatzimmer mit Bad gebucht, aber bei meiner Ankunft war es schon an jemand anderen vermietet. Die Zimmer haben ausserdem eine schäbige Schiebetür, die kaum schliesst und durch deren Ränder man sogar ins Zimmer sehen kann. Ich hatte eine Nacht gebucht, bin aber mitten in der Nacht gegangen. Nie wieder.

Kitchen and fridge full of cockroaches, bed bugs in the bedroom, bathroom smells like sewage and showers are pretty disgusting. Would only stay here for 1 night at most.

Cuisine et rooftop ferment le soir, le matin on doit demander à ouvrir la cuisine car a 9h personne n'a ouvert. douches et toilettes très sales, du bordel partout. Un matin je veut faire le café, et là je vois qu' il y as un produit blanc dans tout les plats et casseroles, ils avaient mis du produits a cafard partout ! des gamins qui font du bruit toute la nuit, qui laissent leurs bouteilles d'alcool partout, et personnel pas sympa dutout. on s'est retrouvé enfermé dehors plusieurs fois

L'auberge est bien pour une nuit, pas plus. La cuisine n'est pas du tout équipée même en vaisselle la plus simple, les dortoirs sont très petits et pas isolés du bruit et le ménage dans l'ensemble n'est pas très bien réalisé mais bon, encore une fois pour une nuit de transition ça fait le travail. Le personnel est sympa et l'emplacement est pas mal pour visiter El poblado

My stay here was mostly good. The staff were super friendly and helpful, and the kitchen was well equipped. The only thing I didn’t like was that the walls of my room didn’t go all the way to the ceiling so any noise or lights from reception/ the other rooms in that section was a bit disturbing. Apart from that it was all fine :)

Good location and very good value for money. Very basic but if you’re just needing a place to stay then it’s fine.

es un hostal pequeño, pero no se si por tener la cocina cerca de las habitaciones había muchas cucarachas pequeñas, incluso en el apagador había huvesillos se ve que tiene mucho tiempo que no le dan una limpieza profunda a las habitaciones, lleno de arañas. el persona amable y la está a 10 min del metro caminando, buena ubicación

Wände sehr Lärmdurchlässig, Türschloss falschherum eingebaut und dadurch funktionsunfähig, Stockbetten sind nicht fixiert und beim Hinaufsteigen fallen sie fast um.

The hostel wasn’t that bad, the problem was that the girl at the reception and the security guy weren’t so nice, beds not very comfy but acceptable for the price u pay. The last night started to rain from the ceiling into the bed, we were on bedroom 14. And at 1 in the morning he asked us if we wanted to change bedroom. That was what made me change my mind about the hostel conditions and why my grade are not awesome.

I was there for the flower feria, absolutely loved the atmosphere, met amazing people, very social hostel. But that was the only reason I was able to look over the dirtiness and bad condition in facilities, kitchen, and lack of privacy curtains.

Owner with the dreads NEVER smiled, some staff was nice, they are too strict with changing pillows and sheets.

They didn't respond to my WhatsApp messages, the staff was moody, the beds were really uncomfortable and I had to ask for a blanket and it is very loud because of all the bars around the area (which of course isn't the hostel's fault, but it's still annoying).

I booked a private room with a private bathroom, but a few hours later, I was told it was unavailable, and a room with a shared bathroom was offered instead. Upon arrival, neither room was available, and I was forced into a shared room. The room was suffocating, lacked a window, and was filthy. The lockers were broken and could be opened even when locked. The bathrooms had a nauseating sewage smell, were tiny, and couldn't be locked. Terrible experience.
