the place was great. staff was so nice, especially João. it was clear, had privacy curtain (not the top bunk tho…) the only thing is, we booked a female only dorm and one night we woke up to a guy in our dorm, and the staff had no information on him. but we were met with kindness over the situation. good facilities and good common rooms. we also might have gotten bed bugs from here but it is unclear….

There were bedbugs in the all women's dorm. Location is great but I wouldn't risk it as I found a live one along many others that were dead.

Kind and helpful employees. Breakfast was served to me, super nice. The bathroom on the fifth floor was a bit flooded and didn’t look like it had been cleaned in a while. There was sitting water on the floor. Despite being right next to a busy street, I slept really peacefully. I was worried about bedbugs but staff assured me that they hadn’t had them in 3 weeks (still not great). Atmosphere was great, I felt safe, I met great people.

We loved this hostel, it was in the perfect location and the staff were great! We did end up discovering after we left that we got bed bugs tho :/

BEDBUGS. 5 out of the 8 beds in our room had bedbugs crawling in them. The night staff was not helpful and just tried to put us in diff rooms, and tried to gaslight us that this “was normal for cheap hostels”. When the manager came in the morning she resolved our issues, which we appreciated, but this definitely ruined the trip for some of the people in my room. The manager also apparently told one girl that the bugs “always happens in the same rooms” so this is a common occurrence for them

Would’ve rated higher, but got bit by bed bugs during my one night stay so be weary.

Con:severe bites by some mysterious black beetle (possibly a black spider with very short legs that simply looked like a beetle -not bed bugs) resulting in massive welts, joint stiffness and pain, swelling, itching, 3 days of travel lost and time spent in emergency room to monitor reaction. Prosstaff very nice, offered free upgrade but when I declined simply gave me full refund. Suggestion: multiple staff informed me that they have had many complaints about bites. Perhaps time for extermination?

It’s a nice hostel and the set up, location and staff were great. However I had bed bugs and am feeling the affects now. Should have read the comments as sounds like many others felt this too!
