Stranger Tides Hostel

I loved every second of staying here. Is it a relatively far walk from town? Absolutely. But its distance allows you to escape the chaos of the old town and enjoy the serenity of the landscape. Plus there is a bus once per hour if you don’t want to walk :) The family that own the hostel are so so kind. Made the experience so much better. Reading on the jetty out front reading was beautiful. Great place to stay in Kotor! The host was so wonderful and we loved hanging out at the dock. Highly recommend!

I got weird vibes at this place. I don’t get the 9,8 rating. The hostel was a bit too far to walk to the city center and old town and bus station

Hands down, the best hostel I have stayed in so far. It’s owned and run by this lovely family. The bay is just two steps from the hostel, so you can jump in the water first thing in the morning. It has all the facilities you need and the atmosphere is amazing. 11/10!

If you’re looking for a phenomenal place to stay, I cannot recommend Stranger Tides enough. The location is absolutely amazing and everyone we met there was incredibly nice, but I have to give a special shout out to the hosts. I had a bag that ripped on my travels and he went out of his way to sew it up for me — and I have to say he did a proper job fixing it 🤌🏼 When we find ourselves on this side of the pond again we will definitely be staying there for sure. Thanks guys!

Lovely hostel outside of Kotor. It’s a long walk from the center but worth it as the location is beautiful and you have private peaceful piers instead of crowds at Kotor beach. The host is very friendly and everything is clean. The only thing that bothered me was that both shower holders were broken.

I loved this family-run hostel. The lady owner was lovely. I wished I could have stayed there forever! I felt sad to leave. Outstanding location. A 15min walk to the nearest shop or market, 45 min walk to the old town, away from the tourist crowds.

I loved EVERYTHING! Sandra and her family are so lovely, the volunteers amazing, and I met so many great people during my one-week stay. Would‘ve loved to stay longer! It’s outside Kotor, the bus stop is 3 mins away. But the walk to Old Town is stunning! Everything was super clean, beds were really comfy, AC worked great, kitchen well equipped (plus free oats!), and there’s a small market 5 mins away. Lockable boxes, too. Sandra was absolutely the best host ever. She has put so much love into the place and really makes sure that everyone feels welcome. This hostel has been my favourite so far while I have been travelling in Montenegro. Yes, it is a bit out of the way, but the vibes are definitely worth it. The environment just makes it so easy to be social with everyone and all the people I had met while staying there were amazing. Honestly, it was an unforgettable experience.

Lovely place to stay! The owner and the volunteers are super nice, the place is clean and comfy and has everything you need, a bit away from town but you can take the bus and the beach in front of the hostel is totally with it!

10/10 experience! Sandra and her daughter felt so welcoming, it was like being in a proper family home with everyone staying at the hostel helping out and socialising, couldn’t recommend this place enough

One of the cleanest a nicest hostels I’ve stayed in Europe! Staff are so lovely and super accomodating. Nice sunset swim spot directly opposite the hostel and it’s tucked away from the hustle and bustle of old town. Busses run every hour into old town otherwise it’s a good hour walk along the coast

Ein wirklich tolles Hostel! man muss beachten, dass es nicht in Kotor ist sondern Dobrota und deshalb abseits vom Trubel. Man kann aber für ca 1€ mit dem Bus in die stadt fahren. Dafür hat man direkten Zugang zum Baden und Ruhe :)

Fantastic hostel in an ideal location - it's well out of the busy old town but an enjoyable walk away, with all the best swimming spots literally on the doorstep. Owner is super friendly and helpful. Relaxed social atmosphere. Clean well-equipped kitchen. Would absolutely stay again!

This hostel was lovely, the host was super nice and lovely and really takes care of the space and guests. Rooms were super nice and they had air con as well!! Was located out of the city centre but it was great to be away from the havoc and to have a bit of quiet. It was located right on the waters edge so we had our own swimming port with no other tourists. Would definitely recommend!!

Amazing hostel, amazing location. Highly recommend renting some bikes from somewhere and biking into old town, up and down the boardwalk
