worst experience one can have. Location is wrong which they have shared, you will need to go through stairs which are 150-200 with all your luggage the staff was very rude no one was even cooperative there rooms were small and washroom was weird like you can fine toilet seat and sink just infront weird. The man over reception was so rude. Worst experience one can ever get.
Stay was not good
Amazing experience! The hostel is incredible and the only reason I can’t give it 10 stars is because the beds literally bruised our backs. I’ve spent over a year staying in hostels and these were the worst beds I’ve ever slept in. They were SO uncomfortable, which is such a bummer but everything else was great! The cafe food, drinks and views are incredible. The staff is very kind and helpful.
Staff were friendly and helpfull. Hostel is close to town which is nice to go for a walk in the evening. Showers are hot and the food is amazing aswell as the coffee and masala chai!
The room was not good, and the washroom was dirty. Zostel should focus on room and washroom cleanliness.
The hostel isn't quite as nice of the pictures will have you believe. We had to ask for fresh bedding when we arrived as the sheets hadn't been changed. Typical in India that they don't do this for some reason. It's basic hygiene and the bare minimum imo. Patio is quite nice but they charge a tax on top of the prices and a service charge. Hot water in the shower is temperamental.
Great Hostel with a good vibe, it is down 99 steps though, but for me it wasn't really an issue. The staff and atmosphere was top draw!! Good place
The staff was not helpful. The rooms were not nice as shown in the images. The hostel had stairs which is not mentioned when we were booking before. All in all, it was my worst zostel experience ever.
I made great memories at Zostel. I travelled solo for the first time and had good fun with room mates. Cafeteria is very nice. Staff is friendly. Makes you feel good.
View from the cafe is insane
The property is located near the main market of Mcleodganj. But there's catch: you need to take a 40-step stairs down to get in the hotel. This is super inconvenient since you need to carry all the luggage up and down and use staircase for every time you need to get out of the hotel. I would recommend booking a hotel that's nearby and on the road. The common spaces like work station and balcony-coupled cafe are good. But the cafe takes the last order at 9.30pm! Tldr: don't book zostel
Had a really pleasant stay there. Staff was really friendly and there is a very nice view from the Hostel. Would come again!
My stay at the Zostel McLeodGanj was amazing and flawless, had a great time there. Also, I had the opportunity to go on a small hike with Zostel's amazing host Avni, who made us feel welcomed and warm during the hike! Loved the stay overall!

Nice view
Sólo hay que saber que hay que bajar y luego subir demasiadas escaleras para ingresar al hostel. A pesar de esto, la ubicación es buena, cerca del centro. El agua caliente en la ducha es casi inexistente (3min dura).
