Ella Escapade Hostel

Un lugar de ensueño. Está en una ubicación perfecta si prefieres evitar el bullicio de ella, a unos 30 min caminando del centro. Pero no te preocupes, el camino hacia ella siguiendo las vías del tren es mágico! Realmente merece la pena caminar esos 30 min. Respecto al dueño del alojamiento es una persona muy servicial y amable. Siempre dispuesto a ayudar. El desayuno delicioso. El lugar muy limpio.

Absolutely stunning location- the hostel is located up in the hills right next to the train track and Ella Rock. Some of us extended a couple of days just to wave at the train from the amazing swimming pool area. The staff that works is really nice and the free breakfast is also great, especially the really cheap option of adding eggs to the order. Only downside was that the 4 bed dorm that I was in seemed tiny compared to usual room size and there were no curtains on the dorm beds.

Very beautiful with a nice view. although very far out for a one night stay - 2 nights needed to make the most of this hostel.

Geweldig hier!! Lieve eigenaar, het is hier mooier dan op de foto’s, heerlijk rustige omgeving en een heerlijk zwembad erbij. Leuke mensen hier ontmoet en avondeten is lekker en gezellig 😋!! Wel 17 min weg van Ella met vervoer of 35 min wandelen langs de treinrails.

This is such a lovely hostel. In a great location with stunning views and very relaxing vibe. Staff were super attentive and very welcoming.

STAFF TRIED TO STEAL MONEY OUT OF MY BAG!!! After confronted they apparently ‘found it in the room’ when the money hadn’t left the bag at all. It’s also quite far out, dirty, showers don’t work & toilets don’t get cleaned. Do not stay here

Best hostel I’ve ever stayed at. Beautiful location, lovely and very helpful staff, tasty breakfast and nice communal areas.

Amazing location in the hills of Ella where to escape the business. It takes 40 mins walking in the train treks to get there. There wasn’t much of a social atmosphere. You would meet people at breakfast, which was quite basic though. Also it was lacking a family dinner to get people together in common area. The dinner they had was also quite basic even though you have to pay extra. I stayed in the 10 bed dorm which unfortunately was full of ants and didn’t have mosquito nets.

Really nice stay here. Could be boring if there’s nobody else booked but it was lively and fun. Tucked away from the business of Ella, it takes about 45 minutes to walk into town. The hostel can arrange a tuktuk or a scooter for you easily. The showers could have been a bit better but very clean and comfy stay surrounded by a beautiful setting

Stayed here with a few friends I hadn't seen for a while, it's a 30-50 minute walk along the train tracks into town and basically at the Ella rock hike trailhead. It was really quiet in our stay, but the tranquil setting was beautiful to relax in and catch up. Recommend eating at the businesses along the railway over the town, better food for way cheaper. The staff can call you a tuktuk to get you around, I'd definitely stay here again.

wunderschön ruhig gelegenes Hostel inmitten der Berge (Entfernung nach Ella ca. 15 min TukTuk). Der Pool bietet Blick auf die Teeplantagen. Es gibt drinnen und draußen große Sozialbereiche. Allerdings war das Hostel während meines Aufenthaltes ziemlich leer. Der Hotel Manager war sehr hilfsbereit und ist mit mir an einem Morgen extra ins Krankenhaus nach Bandarawela gefahren und hat mir geholfen, eine Tollwutimpfung zu bekommen.

Amazing staff and nice hostel. Very helpful owner. Not too many people stayed here at the same time. Far away from Ella city, but right next to Ella rock. Tuktuk at night was scary because of long and small roads, but if you can walk the train trail while light its fine.

Beautiful peaceful hostel a tuk tuk ride from Ella. Lovely countryside views of farmers and traintracks. The free vegan dinner was so delicious! Such friendly people working there, loved it to completely relax

Amazing place to stay. So peaceful and beautiful scenery. Close to Ella Rock and waterfalls. Free breakfast and dinner that’s filling and tasty. Great staff and friendly owner. 10/10

One of my favourite hostels in Sri Lanka, calm but just a relaxing walk on the train tracks away from Ella, plus really amazing cheap food.
