Paradise View Hostel

Ajith was the most amazing and such a lovely guy that went out of his way to help us out. He dropped us off and picked us up from Ella whenever he was able to and was so lovely to chat to. The hostel had amazing views and the beds were very comfortable. Thank you for our stay!

I was in Paradise View Hostel last month and Ajith was the best host. I travelled across Sri Lanka but the warm hospitality Ajith showed was out of the world. He took me on his jeep to his home to have the best home cooked dinner I had on my whole trip. The view from the hostel is stupendous. Although a bit far from the city, Ajith offers free ride on his jeep and it’s completely worth it! Kudos to Ajith!

Hands down the best hostel I stayed at in Sri Lanka!! Met people here that I travelled on with. The vibes are great, staff are lovely and all the added things like meals, free cooking classes and jeep rides to places were great bonuses!! The food here is also insanely good!

Such an amazing stay!! The owner is so kind goes above and beyond including free tours, a gift and transport to and from town. Not to mention how beautiful the view is, the vibe is so nice here is small so you get to know all the other guests well! Couldn’t recommend enough :)

Paradise View is a beautiful hostel! Ajith is a lovely host, who takes good care of his guests! The view of the place is just stunning, for us it was really key not to be in Ella town but a bit outside. For visiting the waterfalls, it's a perfect location. We loved the breakfast, too. Would come back anytime

The view here was unbeatable to wake up to! I ended up finding Ella very crowded, so after a couple nights in the main tourist area, I then moved down here to enjoy the scenery. It is close to 2 waterfalls and the bus to town was about 20 minutes, but easy to catch, it helped me gain confidence to catch them across the rest of Sri Lanka :) Bed was very comfy and Ajith was very kind and even picked me up one night from town to drive me back after dinner!

The view from this hostel really is amazing. However personally, I would not recommend this hostel for a solo traveller. It wasn’t easy to get into town - which isn’t close at all. Pick-me app doesn’t work there so it’s just pot luck if you get a Tuktuk and buses are not guaranteed. I stayed in a private room which is separate building from the dorm building. I wanted to join the family dinner but had no idea where the common area was as nothing is clear.

Where do I even begin??? Ajith is so incredibly nice, he makes sure that you feel so comfortable and welcome. He organised a secret waterfall tour with a local for us and afterwards his mom cooked for us the most incredible food!!! He also picked us up from Ella city centre at night but there’s also an easy bus that you can take. Honestly if you wanna stay in Ella, stay here! Far away from the chaos of the city and with the most amazing view. Thank you so much for showing us this kindness

Sehr schöne Aussicht & netter Host. Ist gut mit dem Bus zu erreichen von der Stadt. Die Dusche & das Badezimmer sind nicht sonderlich sauber. Ebenso funktioniert die Dusche nicht richtig. Es gibt keine Mosquitonetze & das Zimmer ist voller Insekten. Ansonsten ein sehr schönes Hostel mit einer unschlagbaren Aussicht. Es gibt Touren um Ella zu entdecken zu einem fairen Preis.

Free left over meal, coffee and tea on arrival. Ajith was very helpful and friendly. As a charitable endeavour, Ajith gave as free jewellery. He purchased jewellery to support a family in need. Great views at the hostel. A very cheap local bus into town. Ajith even picks you up from town of a night.

Ajith was a amazing host , I turned up to the hostel with food poisoning and he was straight away going out to find me medicine . He was extremely helpful and provides a pick up service from town each night and he even dropped us to the train station . The room was very clean and cosy and had a beautiful view of the mountains and the jungle with so much wildlife. There was also a good breakfast on offer . The hostel is about 20 mins away from Ella but the local bus outside is extremely useful.

Really great hostel. The location was amazing and the host went above and beyond. The vibe was really good to meet people and the tour was amazing including a private waterfall which was beautiful.

Great hostel! Tour was amazing, a very special experience! Place is a bit out of town however owner will drive you if possible! Communal area + rooms and bathrooms are clean :) My only recommendation is for comfy chairs outside dorm so you are able to relax there and enjoy the view :)

The view is what you’d expect, beautiful! Unfortunately the trade off is that it is very far outside of Ella - 20 minutes by Tuktuk or bus. The bus is very cheap but tuktuks are much more expensive in Ella than elsewhere, so take that into account. Beds were comfortable and clean, bathroom was fine and breakfast was also fine. The view is beautiful though!

This was such a gorgeous hostel with the most amazing view ever. I would highly recommend. The hosts are lovely and there are regular busses every 10 mins into the town which only costs 50lkr

Great hostel if you are looking for a quiet stay out in the jungle but with lots of activities to do throughout the day with the hostel, the owner is lovely and does great tours, takes you out to see waterfalls and does a cooking class and family dinner. Enjoyed my day and stay there if that’s what you’re looking for!

We stayed for one night, the bonus is the amazing views, breakfast, and proximity to the waterfalls. Other travellers stayed longer for the half- or fullday activities with the host, which I believe is why the hostel is so loved and recommended. Cleanliness and location could have been better. We didn’t realize before how far out it was of Ella, so be aware that getting a drive back and forth at night can be hard! We heard the host is often picking up dropping people off, which is very kind.

We absolutely loved our time at Paradise Hostel, so much so we extended our stay because we didn’t want to leave. Ajith is such a kind and thoughtful host. The accomodation has everything you need and the view is incredible. We loved our tour with Ajith and meet some really lovely friends through it. Would definitely recommended this hostel!
