Rowardennan Lodge Youth Hostel

It was the last week of the season when we stayed. There were some problems with the shower we used and its drainage, which we're confident will be fixed during the close season maintenance program. There was no kind of soap: we suggest consideration be given to the provision of at least shower gel, and perhaps bathmats (disposable paper ones can be bought for less than 12p each).

Brillant stay in this hostel. Well done to the staff who are so welcoming and kind. The cleanliness of the hostel was outstanding. A pleasure to stay there. My only minor quibble was with the dinner provided- it wasn't very exciting to be honest and probably use the impressive kitchen to cook for myself the next time I come

Everything was great except the showers

I had a wonderful stay at the lodge for a weekender solo from Australia, it felt so welcoming, comfortable, and so peaceful nestled in the mountains. It was a lovely community of hikers and hanging out in the lounge in the evenings felt like a cozy home, with beautiful views of the Loch and mountains. It was a perfect spot to access day trip hikes in the area. I got the scenic waterbus from Luss and back, Highly recommend and I can’t wait to come back again!

no water prize 6 persons room and no douche is way to much breakfast is poor electricity on the rooms is not enough no bed lamp its looks nice but finale dissapointed

I hated to leave the Rowardenan Youth Hostel!! Rounding the bend in the road, it looked like a fairy castle nestled on the loch. Inside, I found friendly staff, hearty food, clean facilities, a great laundry/dining room and a cozy bunkroom. I spent two nights but wanted to stay longer!! I’ll be back.

This place is mostly for hikers doing the West Coast Trail. I stayed in a 10 person all male dorm and we were all in bed by 10. All tired hikers. The hostel is located on Loch Lomond. Amazing view.

This hostel is a perfect place to go. Nice, comfy, very calm... Showers are not very practical to use

Shower could be bigger with curtains. It would be great to have a warm breakfast.

We had a nice, short stop in Rowardennan- the Location is wonderful situated, directly by the Loch and on the great west highland way. The beds and breakfast were good and friendly Skye even better. The hike up to Ben Lomond is an easy-to-find mountain roundwalk with stunning views into the High - and Lowlands. I will be back! Sammy Stauffer from Switzerland

Fantastic location on Loch Lomond. Lovely helpful staff. Good facilities although pretty basic which isn't a big deal. Nice rooms with good comfy beds. Amazing view from the lounge. Easy to find. Great to explore.

Over all a great stay, remote feeling with lots of amenities. Wifi only works in certain areas which made it easier to disconnect. Beautiful old building right on the loch and close to lots of hikes. Beautiful living room to read and chill in, larger hostel so slightly harder to get the community feel.

Lovely facilities and location
