Alex Villa Hostel

WARNING‼️ This hostel is not worth saving a couple euros over. First off, it’s literally just some guys house that he threw bunk beds into his attic. It’s almost impossible to find because the gate isn’t marked and looks like every other residential gate on the street. Once we arrived, He charged us significantly more money than was advertised. Stating “it was hostel world’s fault” and if we didn’t like his new price we could simply leave. We booked 6 months in advance.

If you are a traveling România, this Hostel is not for you. Very unhelpful, no notice boards with Bucharest travel , sight seeing information. The owner is still very much affected by the old regime and will walk in the bedroom, shower when he wants to check on anything. The hostel is cold, no heating , very cold showers . Kitchen is the owners kitchen, so he is always checking what you are cooking and washing up dishes before you have finished. I feel he is not cut out for the public

NOT A NORMAL HOSTEL - This is just a place where someone uses his house to make some money on the side, so if you have to stay in bucharest dir three months and need a room great. If you want a hostel, meet people and not feel like you're living in someone's home DON'T choose this one. The owner is super kind and laid back though :)

Terrible lugar. El dueño es un señor muy grosero y sin empatía. Nuestro avión se demoró y terminamos llegando muy tarde. Aunque dimos previo aviso por Whatsapp y por correo electrónico de que llegaríamos tarde y ofrecimos pagar cualquier tarifa, el dueño dejó nuestras camas a otros viajeros sin avisar. Do not stay here no matter how low your budget is!!! When we arrived we had to wait for over an hour at 9pm for the room to be ready, we were greeted by the owner - an angry little man who is clearly not happy and was exceptionally rude. He is a crook and tried pretending that he didn’t owe me my change when I had given him 600 for the 510 room. He argued that I only gave him 500 and didn’t want to give me the money back he owed me. The room was filthy and the beds were rock hard

Hostel Alex villa was nice, but we arrived at night and were tired and had the room to ourselves. Slept well. (Maybe it would be possible to get a key and towels for the room)

We had an amazing experience at this hostel! Alex and his wife are incredibly kind, welcoming, and always ready to help. They went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed, and their warmth made us feel right at home. The hostel is spotless, comfortable, and perfectly located in the city center close to everything yet still quiet and relaxing.

Alex Villa hostel is a place which feels like home to me. The facilities and the beds are clean, the rooms are cozy, and the host is amazing. Thanks for the great memories!!

Not recommended at any cost. Mr alex will nake you wait, so slow and lazy and no room security at all. While going back I was so worried. Not a good experience. Alex was not bad but too stingy and even was angry on using washroom lights. Everything was out of order, no iron, no AC.

Mixed Experience - Friendly Owner but Hygiene Issues I recently stayed at Alex Villa Hostel in Bucharest, and the experience was a bit strange overall. On the positive side, the owner was very friendly and accommodating, making sure we had everything we needed and offering us plenty of advice on getting around the city. We only stayed for one night, but it was truly lovely! the owner cut his easter trip short only to come to the hostel for us to be able to stay! The owner was very nice and approachable, and let us leave our bags for the whole day despite us already having checked out! Overall a really nice hostel stay :)

One of the worst hostels I've been to. It looks like you broke into somebody's house, it's not an actual hostel. There's nothing welcoming about this place. It's small, dirty, smells like a retirement home, without any common area or any other backpackers. It's cheap for a reason but not a good one.

Terrible, AC is broken but the owner will get angry if you open the windows. Bed is horribly uncomfortable. The place seemingly has never been cleaned. Theres cockroaches in the kitchen. The owner generally is rude and very un welcoming.

Overall a good option if you are on a budget, the place is very tidy and the manager is very friendly. I wouldn’t recommend it for female staying though.

Great place, the staf was helpful and showed me how to get to the places I wanted to visit, the facilities were clean which is important for me. A general nice place to be, hope I can visit again soon!
