Great spot. Quiet, lots of walking to do around the area. The rooms don’t lock so if you’re a solo female traveler it can be a little uncomfortable at times. All bikes had something wrong when I went to use them, be it brakes not working or flat tyres. Easy to get to with public transport but remember to buy food before you go.
Probably the best hostel I’ve ever been in. Solely for the unique experience of being so isolated and immersed in Norway’s rural life and land. Lots to do near by but may not be accessible to all, as biking (free) is needed to explore the isle fully. The host Oscar was wonderful and the space felt great to meet fellow travelers in.
Excellent stay! I was getting tired of travelling around population centers and desired some time with nature. If you feel the same, this is a great choice. A rural village in the middle of nowhere, with quiet and wildlife awaits you here. The host Oscar was extremely welcoming and helpful. He made himself available at all times and worked to make my stay the best it could be. Just remember you will be in a rural location and that means doing without convenience. Get food first if you've no car.
There’s not much that needs to be said for how brilliant this place is. One of if not the best stays I’ve had even though it was the off season. I’ve never written a review before but this place deserves it. Top notch Oscar.
Amazing hostel to escape the busy everyday life and enjoy Norway's beautiful nature. We loved our stay in the cozy fisherman's hut which we had all for ourselves (7 beds as two people, including kitchen & bathroom), felt welcome and had a deeply relaxing stay. Mind that, as Nautnes is a pretty tiny village on a remote island, there are not many activities around except for everything connected to water. Beautiful area and great hikes though! Next shop is about 3.5 km away.
Everything I needed. Magical, wonderful place! Very kind people, good communication. 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
The entire appeal of this place was that it's in the middle of absolutely nowhere. They have a functional website going on with all the info you'd need but on site itself it felt a tad bit bare. November was of course, out of season a fair bit but still. There was no lock on any doors and anyone could've come in. No one did because it was just myself and two others but this is left entirely up to luck and isn't the most reliable system to go about in my opinion. Norway is really safe of course b...
Had a great time spending the night! Location was amazing, staff was so welcoming, and it was 100% worth the experience.
Such a cool unique place to spend a couple days and see something out of the city. Very relaxing hostel room on the water and I really enjoyed getting to try some fresh seafood!
Nautnes Fiskevaer was by far the best place I stayed during my trip through Scandanavia! The property is amazing, Oscar was very nice, and the scenery is just beautiful. I had so much fun swimming even though the water was only 14C and there are some amazing hikes around. I can't wait till I have the oppurtunity to come back!
Most unique and amazing hostel stay I have ever had! Oscar was the most welcoming host, but not only that, he made an effort to form friendships with us :) The crab boil was an absolute highlight, and the location is stunning - very special, not something you see everyday! I can’t wait to come back 😁
It was a big trip to get there, but it’s seriously 100% worth it. It’s so quiet and peaceful, with the most amazing landscapes and views. The host Oscar is the biggest legend you’ll ever meet. He’s super friendly and kind and showed us around an amazing lookout spot after doing a crab feast dinner with everyone that stayed there. Wish I stayed for longer!
Norways hidden gem.
Magical stay at Nautnes Fiskevaer Hostel, would give it 15 stars if I could. Very peaceful environment, great scenery and landscapes in the area, and how not to mention the hospitality of Oscar and his crew! Will come back shortly and dream about this place until then :) Thanks for everything!
It was a very nice Hostel and the people are very nice. We enjoyed to stay
Definitely worth the busride from Bergen! It was such a chill place with a great atmosphere and safe feeling. It felt like the staff actually just wanted you to have a good time. And there are a lot of activities and hikes to do on the islands.
One of the best hostel I’ve ever been to if not the best : the owners are incredibly nice, the people staying there as well. It’s a very beautiful spot for anyone who loves nature, there’s many hikes around and it’s possible to bicycle, rent a boat / kayak for not that much. The kitchen is very nice, the vue from the dorm is incredible as well. It’s really easy to make friends here, many solo travellers are staying in this little paradise, not far from Bergen ( also it’s close to the...
We booked a private room and had a great time. Oscar and his dad own different apartments and each of them is part of the hostel. You can use the bikes for free and rent a boat. Oscar is super attentive. Nautnes has some hikes to do and is a quiet area. The right place if you want to escape the city life and enjoy a calm time.
I would love to stay here again! The other guests were comfortable enough to leave cooking messes but this was not the fault of the hostel. This is a good place to stay if you are a relaxed individual. Beware of timings if you are coming from Bergen via public transportation, the final bus doesn’t come as often. It’s a gorgeous drive.
