Another World Hostel

I had an incredible time at this hostel! The atmosphere is so chill and welcoming, making it the perfect place to relax. The staff were absolutely amazing always helpful and friendly. A big thank you and greetings to the whole team! You made my stay special. I highly recommend this place to anyone visiting the area. Thanks for everything!

Friendly crew, even took us to Dambulla free of charge because they were going anyway. Great location, close to some nice restaurants, and their own family dinners are nice to join as well. And really nice that they organise trips, so no need to get your own guides. The included breakfast we added to the booking was tasty but a bit too much food and slightly expensive; it's better to buy what you want from the menu every morning.

Loved my incredible stay at Another World Hostel. From the smooth check in experience to the lovely people managing the property to the family dinners, karaoke and the secret sunset spots, everything was perfect. Made numerous core memories and had wonderful conversations! Top notch!

such a great hostel, the workers are so welcoming, helpful and funny. spacious room, comfy bed, great social areas. so many activities organised for you to sign up for at good prices.

Overall staff were friendly and wanted to help but the lack of communication made arrangements or plans confusing/ disappointing sometimes. The manager Malit was super helpful and communicated well though which made up for it. The dorm bathroom had leeches coming out of toilet which the staff couldn’t get rid of even when they cleaned.

Lovely hostel to start my trip in Sri Lanka, atmosphere was great and the rooms were good. There were also lots of activities organised by the hostel

Das Deluxe Doppelzimmer war für diese Leistung viel zu teuer. Die Bettwäsche war fleckig/dreckig, das Bad verschimmelt und die Toilette undicht, sodass Abwasser ins Badezimmer lief. Dafür war das Zimmer vom Preis-Leistungsverhältnis viel zu teuer (auch das dazu gebuchte Frühstück). Das Doppelzimmer würden wir nicht empfehlen…

Amazing place, had so much fun! The hostel team puts in so much effort to make sure everyone has a great time. The activities are so fun and easy to organise , and the whole place has such a welcoming family vibe. Malith always brings great energy and good fun vibes 🤙🏼🤙🏼

The hostel has such a warm and social atmosphere and it really feels like a little family. The staff, especially Maliyah, go above and beyond to make everyone feel welcome, and the activities make it easy to connect with others. They genuinely care about everyone’s experience. I’d definitely come back again.

Best hostel I’ve stayed at in two months - th family running it are amazing really made the experience. They do sunrise and sunset tours for super cheap and lake tours , elephant safari as well as cooking classes and cricket. Constantly sweeping and making sure everything is clean and they really wanted everyone to have an amazing. I can’t wait to go back.

Such a nice hostel in Sigiriya, prefect to meet people. It’s has such a beautiful charm, you can see the care and love they put into the place. It has a nice atmosphere, very welcoming and supportive.

Ich habe den Aufenthalt dort sehr genossen. Das Personal war sehr zuvorkommend und super hilfsbereit!! Es gibt eine Filteranlage, sodass man sein Wasser zum trinken kostenlos auffüllen kann. Die Aktivitäten vom Hostel aus sind sehr zu empfehlen! Ich kann’s mit ruhigem Gewissen weiterempfehlen!

I’ve never understood when people describe finding family at a hostel until now. The staff go above and beyond to make everyone feel welcome and to make sure they have the best trip possible. The organised and unorganised trips to lakes, sunset/sunrise hikes and cooking classes were certainly memorable. I, like many other people extended my stay last minute to spend a little bit longer at this hostel. Thank you again to the staff, hopefully be back one day :)

The hostel has a social vibe and the staff are lovely. They throw events and tours all day so it’s super easy to meet people. The also have the cutest hostel pups. Thanks Spoon and Rash for the amazing hospitality!

I came here as a stranger and when I left I felt like I belong to the family. Maliya and his Crew are amazing. Everyone of them is kind, respectful and heartwarming. I saw many special places and the nature in Sigiriya is stunning. A big thank to Raschmi and Maliyah for making my stay so unforgettable.

Enjoyed my time here! They definitely try their best to make it social with events, just depends on who is there at the time. Bathrooms were a little scary but everything was clean. No curtains.

Good hostel - it is more social only from dinner onwards as people do the tours / safaris during the day time. But it’s really nice having dinner all together and doing karaoke after etc. easy to make friends. The beds were comfy but my charging socket didn’t actually work on my bunk bed. We had an Ensuite which was clean. Staff are really friendly and like to interact with you. 1 male staff member maybe a bit too pushy with people but the rest were fine. Would stay again.

Would give 5 stars purely for the staff. The staff are so welcoming and inclusive. Special shout out to Rash, Nima and the guys - they took us to a local carnival and made sure we were fed with drinks and safe from random men. The rooms are quite basic with no curtains on the bunks, but the staff were constantly cleaning the rooms so was a pleasant stay.
