I don’t really write reviews but i am so dissatisfied with this hostel. They don’t have hot shower , please don’t come in winter time…. I needed to take cold shower with 0degree in paris. There are also bed bugs, my face got bite twice. Facilities are old and need maintenance. The door lock of my dorm is broken

bathrooms were terrible. unclean and I saw bedbugs in the cubicle. The showers were so gross that I didn’t even have a shower after a 9 hour travel day from Rome. Absolute rip off. So disappointing. Luckily we only booked one night so we could check out and go to a better place

I stood at the St.Christopher’s Inn on April 19-20. What at first seemed like a nice stay turned into an absolute disaster. The shower curtains in the private bedroom with private bathroom had mold on it. There was no space to shower and worst of it all, THERE WERE BED BUGS. I woke up into the middle of the night vigorously scratching my entire body at 3am. I went downstairs to reception to ask if they’ve had a problem with bedbugs before and what I got was a snarky attitude. The French receptionist with dark black hair and bangs (not sure what her name is) was probably the rudest person I’ve ever encountered. She showed absolutely no care for the situation and told me that if they find bedbugs then they would have to check me out in the middle of the night and it was pouring rain outside. The neighborhood this hostel seems to be a pretty dangerous neighborhood so as you can imagine as a solo female traveler I had no intentions of being kicked to the curb but I didn’t know what else to do. I started hysterically crying when I went back upstairs to check out the bed only to find it was full of bedbugs. I went down and showed her the pictures and she showed no interested and told me that she couldn’t give me another room because of some ridiculous policy. I asked her if where else would I sleep and she rudely said “I don’t know” clearly not caring enough about it because it wasn’t her problem. She told me I’d have to wait until the next morning to talk to someone about it but I refused to continue to get bit by bedbugs for a room I paid so much money for in a sketchy neighborhood with poor cleanliness. I instead had no other choice but to stay awake from 3am on Easter Day (which I had plans to leave early and catch a train back to Belgium) to 8am washing all of my clothing items to get rid of any bedbug and bedbug eggs. While I was in the laundry room I saw dirty dishes and cockroaches. I was sick to my stomach from how dingy and dirty this place was.

  4. Confirmed Hostelworld

On my last night i found bed bugs that were filled with my blood, grossed me out, and now i need to worry about bringing them home. Also room cleaners dont knock on the door before entering, they just walk in, happen on both days i was there, and one of the times i was naked.

  5. Confirmed Hostelworld

Location is great. Close to the train station. The facilities, bar and corridors are ok. Staff was friendly enough. The main problem was the bedbug infestation in the bed when we were going to sleep. I reported to reception and got new sheets, but another room will have been better. I don't think I will recommend it to someone because of this.

WARNING: Do Not Stay Here – This Place Is a Nightmare If you value your health, safety, and money, AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COSTS!!!!! 1. BLACK MOLD - The ceilings are VISIBLY oozing it, and the entire property reeks of it. Mold poses a serious health hazard, especially for anyone with allergies, asthma, or weakened immune systems. Staying here puts your well-being at significant risk. And they do not care. 2. BED BUGS - The sheets had blood stains, which we didn’t initially understand were a sign of BED BUGS. After leaving, we discovered nasty bites and had to spend a fortune on pest control to avoid bringing the infestation home!!! When I reported the issue, the hotel claimed I never complained during my stay—completely ignoring the fact that bed bug bites often don’t show up until after you leave. They also DISREGARDED my mention of the bloodstains and their LACK of basic protective measures, such as mattress encasements, which are a minimum standard everywhere. 3. HORRENDOUS SERVICE: After paying over $500 and complaining about the conditions, the hotel promised a partial refund. Instead, they refunded only $115—a fraction of what they committed to!!! Their responses were slow, dismissive, and completely unprofessional. Protect yourself body AND your mind, and stay far away from this place. It is unsafe, unhygienic, and poorly managed. 0 stars.

  7. Confirmed Hostelworld

I only stayed for one night and it was the first night of my travels (from Tuesday 12/11 to Wednesday 13/11). The day after I had red bites on my legs which I think are from bed-bug bites from the bed. I have contacted the hostel, but have not yet received a reply.

There were bed bugs in the room and I woke up to them biting me!

  9. Confirmed Booking.com

Lots of bed bugs, bit of a confusing layout, bathrooms could be cleaner.

  10. Confirmed Booking.com

I had bed bugs or mosquitos in the room which caused spots on my hands.

  11. Confirmed Hostelworld

This was one of the worst hostels I ever been to. I found my whole room infested with bed bugs and bugs all over my bed and floor. I ended up leaving and ended up staying at another place but the bed bugs ended up coming with me and I had to throw my suitcase away and some of my other stuff away as well just so I wouldn’t bring those disgusting bugs with me. I would not recommend staying here. Stay safe yall.

  12. Confirmed Hostelworld

The location is okay, convinent for an early morning train from or a late night train to Gare du Nord, and it is close to Montmarte, however the immediate area surrounding Gare du Nord felt a little unsafe and scary for me as a solo traveller. There are good transport links, but in general it is far away from lots of the sights of Paris. There is no common room, so it's not ideal for solo travellers. There were bed bugs in the bunk next to mine, but the bathrooms were always clean.

  13. Confirmed Hostelworld

I got bitten by bed bugs, the shower was broken, the bathroom is so tiny you can’t even turn around inside it, the lift was broken and our key card to get into our room randomly stopped working. Honestly the only good thing about this place is its location to the train station, makes it good for a stop over - if you aren’t stopping over don’t bother.

  17. Confirmed Hostelworld

Fair warning my bed had bed bugs. The staff was accommodating and gave me a free wash, free breakfast, and upgraded me to a private room.

  18. Confirmed Hostelworld

I recently stayed there for a week with 3 other women and it was both myself and my partner's first time in a hostel. I will say we were very surprised by how clean it was overall. I don't think we would've done the communal route, but was grateful there was a 4 bed private one available. This included your own shower, toilet, and bathroom space. It also came with a towel on each bed. No bed bugs! Win in my book!!! Security was on point. You can hear everything so keep that in mind.

I got bed bugs, it made the weekend trip and return home quite uncomfortable

Loud music all night long! Impossible to sleep. Dirty. I saw a bed bug. Broken toilet which wasn't fixed despite reporting it. Horrible clientele. This place doesn't provide minimum standard. They will just take your money and don't care about everything else. Disgusting place. Racist. One receptionist refused to take cash from the Asian man next to me but other receptionist at the same time accepted cash from me while I was paying city tax. The bar downstairs is unbelievably loud all night and has no sound proof. It's just a glass roof. They are a nightmare for all neighbours. I am genuinely surprised that this place is still functioning and hasn't been closed down for the noise pollution. Seriously don't give them your money, it would be more quiet to sleep at the railway station than inside this junk.

The showers didn’t work. The water was ice cold first. After you turned the heat up just a little tiny bit, it went crazy boiling hot. All the showers on the first floor were like that. Even the cleaning lady told us that it is always like this, so we shouldn’t have a shower there.

  24. Confirmed Hostelworld

Disgraceful place... unless you like bedbugs. I had a single room, not a bunk. (#421) It's a grotty rundown fleapit. Worn out dirty bedding, a thin uncomfortable mattress on a metal bed frame, bed bugs, a toilet/shower smaller than in a camper van, stained toilet rolls, a filthy kettle, VERY thick coating of dust on the curtains, loose electrical fittings... It's just awful.

  25. Confirmed Hostelworld

we were there less than 24hrs so hard to get a feel of the place but had everything we needed, hopefully we don’t take bed bugs away lol

  26. Confirmed Hostelworld

(Female staying in 10 bed mixed dorm) this location is close to the Gare du Nord station which makes it super accessible from the airport and other places. Our bedroom door handle was broken so the second night our door was ajar the entire night which I did not like, however i did feel safe there still. The maintenance guy came in the morning of the next day to fix it so they are pretty on top of things in that regard. Place was mostly clean and I didn’t encounter any bedbugs so that’s good.

  27. Confirmed Hostelworld

Location is prime if your getting off the train, outside of the station there are a lot of undesirables that will mess with you, head on a swivel. There was bed bug outbreak in Paris so be aware of that, breakfast is not worth, only bread, yogurt, and coffee. Hot showers do not exist unless you wake up to beat the rush. The hostile nightlife was kinda lame. This might sound negative but if you look past this it’s a good bang for your buck. 7/10

  28. Confirmed Hostelworld

Extremely noisy. You cannot sleep. I told them and all the guy said was "it's a youth hostel" But the noise level is ridicilous. There was also bed bugs and the rooms are really bad. There is no housekeeping. Stay elsewhere.

  29. Confirmed Hostelworld

great beds and storage in rooms with under bed lockers. did find bed bug bites 3 nights in and lady on reception was extremely reluctant to do anything and felt like we were being a nuisance telling them about it. she kept rolling eyes and audibly sighing at us which was quite odd. not many facilities to make food, but location was good for finding reasonably priced food. also super close to main train station and metro lines was great, felt okay as a female solo traveller. good bar downstairs every night t

The mixed dorm I stayed in had a male who regularly smoked in the room which left the air quality poorer than it already was. The is no aircon or fans in the dorm so good luck to others staying there in the summer. I reported the smoking to the receptionist who said they would send someone to investigate but this never happened. There were also marks on the wall on the top bunk I was sleeping on which was gross. I also fear there were bed bugs as I started to find bites on my body and was a bit itchy. I stayed in that room for several nights where the smoking continued. The communal bathrooms could do with a lot more cleaning and maintenance + the soap and bodywash dispenser was empty and it is frustrating to have to press the shower button for running water every 30 seconds. The part of the neighborhood the hostel is in isn't the nicest either and is a bit of a commute to get to the touristy areas.

TL;DR: The room had bed bugs, wasn't air conditioned, wasn't cleaned, didn't have any sheets and the fire alarms were disassembled on the floor. When we arrived, the main corridor to our room wasn't open. It was not clear how to actually get to our room, and when we went back downstairs to ask, they were fairly rude and didn't understand why we couldn't find it, even though the actual route required a knowledge of the building we didn't have. When we finally arrived to our room, we came in to find the fire alarms all disassembled on the floor, the room wasn't cleaned (there were dirty towels on the floor) and there was no air con so it was unbearably hot. After immediately complaining, they offered us a discounted meal, but said we wouldn't be able to get sheets for at least 3 or 4 hours, despite having not been warned this when we arrived. After sitting in the room for a while, we began to see bed bugs crawling over the mattresses, which for us was the last straw and we decided to leave. To their credit, the staff were understandable and offered us a refund, but this was the only positive aspect of our stay at St Christopher's.

Big hostel with several floors. Small rooms. Thought someone stayed long term in the room I checked in to, since there was a lot of stuff in the bathroom etc. This was not the case, so all items in the bathroom were probably left there by previous guests. Found a bug in my bed before I went to sleep, not sure if it was a bed bug or not. All of us in the room searched for more bugs but couldn’t find any, so hopefully there was only one that somebody had brought with their luggage. Nice staff.
