Desd la primera noche tuvimos problemas con las chinches o bedbugs, y la respuesta de hostelworld fue aue ellos no podian hacer nada. Y la respuesta de el hostal fue hasta la segunda noche donde ya con pruebas fisicas se lo demostramos

The hostel looks good at first glance and even offers a decent breakfast. The staff were okay, not rude but not especially welcoming, which seems fairly typical in France. Unfortunately, the hygiene standards were extremely poor. The bathroom was full of mould, and one day there were even traces of blood. Under the mattress there was a buildup of dirt, hair, sticky residue, and pieces of paper. Moreover the curtain had a big mark of vomit. Luckily no bedbugs. Staff should do their job properly.

Staff was nice and the rooms were spacious. However, the elevators constantly were glitching on me (I was on the 5th floor). They would sometimes even lock you inside - scary. The eco system they have for lights is stupid and unhelpful. (You have to leave your keycard in a slot to turn on lights in the room but they don’t tell you that) Food was also overpriced. There were bed bugs found during my stay, so I checked out and they did give me a refund for the days I wouldn’t be there.

The hostel was ok considering the price, the first room we were given unfortunately had bedbugs but when we informed the staff they were very helpful and moved us to a bedbug free room. The room itself was spacious and had an en-suite which was nice. Location was ok, about 30 minutes from the centre on the tram but again considering the price it wasn’t bad. Cleanliness needs improvement.

The hostel is in a decent location and easily accessible. Staff is friendly and I like the cabin concept. However, there are serious issues with cleanliness. My cabin was very dusty, there were hairs everywhere, foot crumbs, and even trash left by a previous guest. The shower rooms had mold all over them. Woke up to the sight of a bedbug.

I got bed bugs, they let me use for free the laundry and change room but wouldn’t help me on how to manage bed bugs with my luggage or suggested extinction company… they were not really helpful, but the bathroom were cleaned

I got bed bugs from this hostel. We saw one crawling around and we ended up with bites all over our bodies.

2nd time here. Had to wait for getting staff’s attention at the reception for checking in. Room card must be inserted in the reader at your room, otherwise no lights are available individually, and this was really inconvenient when you need to just use toilet and shower during late at night or early in the morning, regardless of you do not want to bothering others. shower and toilet light wasn’t working without turning whole light in the room anyway. Worst experience was bedbugs present.

BED BUGS in room 225!!! Also we did not get much help from the staff when they moved us to a private room. They could only offer to give us coins for the laundry machine to deal with the bed bugs (the laundry machine was full all the time and had no que system)

The location was ideal, just a 5 minute walk from the train to the center. However my biggest demise on this hostel stay was my bed bug experience. I woke up at 4am covered in bites They moved me to a different private room & refunded my money for the 1st night stay. Unfortunately I still had to pay for my own laundry which didn’t even dry my clothes properly. However the people I met there made up for a lot of it. I still had fun

Nice staff. I left two days before the end of my stay. All of the toilets on my floor were unusable, there was someone registering their name to say the toilets had been cleaned but it was not the case. I saw one other guest complain about bedbugs who was refused refund. I was signed up to a newsletter without my consent. The vibe is oppressive, there is a lack of common areas to relax in the evening. There is a small study but it isn't apparent that it exists. A kitchen with curfew. A loud bar

This hostel is generally okay BUT we got overcharged on tourist tax, had bed bugs on our second night (but the hostel handled this situation well) there was some mold and damages in the rooms and the kitchen only contains a microwave and a kettle. No stove or anything. The location is good

Great place to use as a base when visiting Paris! I stayed in a private cabin room with shared bathroom. It wasn’t the cleanest so I gave everything a wipe over with an antibacterial wipe. I was afraid of bedbugs since there was a few reviews saying they got bitten but I didn’t see any at all in my bed. (Possibly more common in the shared rooms?) fab location, easy to get RER B from Charles de Gaulle station and then back into central Paris. Easy check in, good facilities and helpful staff!

Two friends & I stayed at JO &JOE Paris - Gentilly for 3 nights. On the 3rd morning, my friend woke up to find a couple of bedbugs on his sheets. I had over 20 bedbug bites at last count. We told the person at the front desk who asked us to send an email to an email address that was posted at the desk. It was a bogus email & bounced back right away. After searching online, I did find a legitimate email & told them what happened. They replied that they will issue us a refund. Hopefully they follo

The building overall was very nice and had a very nice vibe to it but my bed did have bed bugs that were crawling over the top of the mattress so I did have to cut my stay here short. The bathrooms were also not the cleanest and could have been better maintained in my opinion.

Saw a few reviews about bed bugs and it’s definitely right, I didn’t see any but I woke up with bites most mornings. The people in my dorm were loud and one came in drunk a couple times. The bar and ‘restaurant’ is worth a miss - go into the city for some decent food for pretty much the same price. It’s right near a station though and is zone 2 which is great for the daily/weekly metro passes. As just a place to sleep and shower it’s pretty good

The hostel seemed to be alright overall however there were bed bugs so once I got home the same day after checking out, I realized that I had bites all over and they could only have come from staying at the hostel.

So we were charged an extra city tax fee upon arrival that was not included in our price, the lights in my room didn’t work and the staff were very unhelpful to do anything about it, it took a long time to order at the bar for anything, the beds may have had bed bugs as I woke up slightly itchy some mornings, the security is good location is good as near a station, bathrooms are nice and private, not too noisy considering location

Everything was good except the bed bugs. I got bit all over even on my face and it is painful. I told staff and they did not help so I had to sleep in someone else’s bed with them.. other than that 8/10.

There are bed bugs at this hostel. I stayed floor 502, room 24B and there are bed bugs. Room very dirty. Value for money not so good considering I’ll probably have to pay for bed bug exterminator at home. Food was poor, not sure if the chicken was cooked and didn’t trust it. So didn’t eat it. Wine was poor. Rooms too hot and stuffy, walls paper thin. I know this place is a hostel but they have advertised it far better than it is so didn’t meet expectations hence harsher ratings.

There are bed bugs at this hostel!, there are also cockroaches. Other than this it was alright, though the kitchen was out of service during our stay. The staff are nice enough and the rooms get cleaned daily. But the sink drained slow. Also when we go there early, we'd to pay to store our bags. The location is just outside paris. So, I recommend walking to the cite universitaire metro to go into town as it will cost less. As two female backpackers travelling I don't recommend this hostel

Location was awesome!and the same metro line as CDG airport I was disappointed from the dorm.The bathroom in our shared dorm was not once cleaned the 4 days we stayed there with my friend.It was disgusting hair in the showers and on the floor for 4 DAYS. The room was smelly as nobody opened the windows for fresh air.Sone was stealing things insude our dorm ,but the exterior security was good. One of our beds was already in use when we checked in.Staf was awesome,no bed bugs,bed were really comfy

The staff was polite and helpful, the bed was comfortable and sheets were clean. The whole room seemed quite clean, my locker was plenty big enough for my 50L backpack. the bathrooms were as clean as they could've been for being a shared bathroom. my only complaint is that even though it was fall weather outside, it's still warm in the rooms. it would benefit from some ceiling fans or something. the mattress was made from some kind of plastic, which made me feel a better ab the bedbugs in Paris.

Honestly not great. Property was pretty dirty, ‘kitchen’ isn’t really a kitchen just a couple of microwaves and was always filthy. Ended up getting bed bugs as plenty of other recent reviews have said - they obviously have a problem they’re not dealing with.. I ended up getting my money back fully and the manager was really good about it but still felt the need to warn people for this one bc it was not a very nice experience. I had zero problems with this hostel, they were AMAZING. Disregard any negative reviews, my room and bed and bathroom was clean, everyone was quiet when it was time to sleep, and the staff was very helpful. No bed bugs, no issues. No air conditioning but that’s Paris. Thank you again JOE&JO, I’ll recommend any of my friends to stay here.

The rooms are around 85-90 degrees all day and all night. The bathrooms look like they have been puked in multiple times with no cleanup. And not to mention the bed bugs we found in our bed. I woke up the following morning with bites covering my legs. When we came to the staff about it, they told us all they could do was check us out. Have friends who stayed here and turns out they had the same experience.

I GOT OVER 70 BEDBUGS DO NOT STAY THERE. when I first got there all I thought was oh wow this was a cool place. I thought it would be a nice place to stay because it was not as expensive as the downtown, Paris places and right next to the train station. I saw amazing reviews online. When I got there, they were kind of rude when I checked in, and then they let me go up to my room. I thought all was well until I started to notice bites all over my body. Usually, I am the type of person that gets destroyed by bug bites, like mosquitoes, so I didn’t think much of it. For the rest of the entirety of the trip, I received over 75 bedbug bites. It wasn’t until I had left that I had even thought of the possibility of bedbugs. Not only was the room gross, every day they were new people coming in and out, and the floors were not cleaned, the bathrooms were disgusting, and the floors were even grosser inside the bathrooms. considering that this was the most expensive hostel that I booked, I am so frustrated. I thought this would be an amazing stay, but I had a terrible time. not to mention that they were kids running around the entire time I was there. Which made it not the best environment for travelers. I felt like they were about four different school field trips staying at this hostel.

Overall it was a party centered atmosphere with the bare minimum in services and cleanliness. Rude staff greeted us, some nice ones but main lady at front desk was unpleasant - our room was also not ready until over an hour after check-in because no one was going up to clean it. The actual neighbourhood felt ok during the day but at night felt sketchy and somewhat unsafe alone as a woman especially. The train station is nice and close but does not fall under the same “zone” as the rest of the city so you will need to spend more for travelling to and from that station, otherwise it’s about 15-20min walk to closest next station. Cleanliness was what really made this place bad to us though. We found bed bug bites on our legs in the morning. The bed sheets were thin and found crumbs in them. The bathrooms smelled awful and there were a couple toilets that were clogged when we got there. The water from the shower stunk and left a smell on us afterwards and the tables in common areas were sticky. Not a great atmosphere and the whole time we were there we did not feel clean at all. We will not be returning to this hostel or any other Jo&Joe associated hostel.

Unfortunate to say that I don’t think this property is worth the cost. To start, I found bedbugs in my bed. I reported it to the desk, they moved me rooms right away. I asked for a refund of the night and they made big show of it yet I never ended up getting it. I saw the exterminator there the next day which was good: but just be weary. Second, it is on the outskirts of the city but luckily nearby a trainstation. The weekend I was there the hostel hosted events for locals - which is cool but not a conducive environment for travelers wanting to meet other people. They kicked you off the patio at about 10:30 (& we couldn’t smoke out front?). You can’t bring your own food or drinks into the main area, unfortunately. Though I understand it’s a restaurant too, it is also a hostel and it feels as though the hostel doesn’t respect the fact that a lot of us are trying to save money. Overall, not a great experience!
